Im sure its all been said,
But sometimes my smells don't arrive for weeks.
Like you I hate that the weed smells amazing when its ready to harvest but
Those terps are the first to go imo.
if you keep your temps n humidity in range and the plant is predisposed to powerful aroma I predict the smell will arrive.
Still in my case the pre harvest smell is always much stronger and often completely different than the end

Anyway......weed is the most opinionated topic I've ever encountered in a forum.
I won't insult anyone for what they do.....for instance.....a few post back a person will "roll a nug in their hands" to draw the scent out...that's ok...their "opinion".
I'd NEVER do that !! All the hard effort to get a bud loaded wit THC and roll it off into your hands is ridiculous to me !! I do what most would do...I'd put in a crusher and the innards of the bud will come out without a problem. But.....that's just MY opinion.

Being in an advanced calculus class and asking how to factor is a stupid question. Being in an advanced chemistry class and asking what Avogadro's number is, is a stupid question. Having a cop witness you shooting someone and asking him if he is going to arrest you, is a stupid question.
Questions are appropriate to venue. Do not get into something over your pay grade and expect everyone else to cater to your lack of preparation because you were to impatient, lazy or 'special' to do the basic work to earn your place at that level.
@Karah 's question wasn't stupid. Karah, the answer for me is I tried curing and I've had everything from straw smell to nothing to the various terpenes. Lately I found a (blush) few large trays of pot I didn't put into jars after months because it smelled so strongly! So I have no answer but that's my experience. Hope you guys are doing great.

I get the same thing, from about this time of year, till it gets cool again in autumn. My theory is the combination of slightly higher temps in my tents, while trimming and in the drying area cook off more of the surface terps. Like others have said, crack a bud and the smell comes out.

You splitting hairs here. This isn't a class in school.....and all here haven't attended WEED 101-104....we are talking about going thru life and learning as we go. You can stretch the point all you want and cite different examples to back you thoughts. Yeah...I suppose if some asked what 1 + 1 is...it might fit with your opinion. The thought process I'm referring to is way beyond your over simplistic interpretation of my meaning.

Again....let's dumb it down for you. If someone wants to learn something....there are no stupid questions. If there is an idiot in an advanced calculus class...maybe he shouldn't have passed the prerequisite to get into the advanced class.
