MY NEW 250W HPS LIGHT GROW!! GOOD ? with pics!!!!

So i ditched the CFL and picked up a hydofarm 250 HPS with the highest quality hps bulb.

Monitoring temps now to see how it'll work.

How far should i place the light above plants??

Did i make a good switch ?? Am i going to notice a huge growth increase??

Ill post before pics and after.

How far should i place the light above plants?? keep them at least two feet away for the next week or so. then with one hand at the top of the plants lower the light as low as you can with your hand not burning

Did i make a good switch ?? Am i going to notice a huge growth increase?? you've about doubled the lumens so that's a good start, but if you have the electricity and can stand the heat i'd use the cfls too

thnks . hopefully it'll take off. just sprouted 5 bubulisious today.

Temps are at 80F with fans on. is this going to harm these plants?

80 degrees should be fine. Just don't get any hotter.

From your picture outside the grow it looks like you have some pretty substantial light leaks. Are you planning on Flowering in the same closet?

yes i am. i picked up weather striping . any suggestions on how to block those up.?

One thing to consider once you cover up your light leaks is a significant increase in temperature...looking nice, i'll be watching

yeah it's going to be a real bitch to try and cover all that up and than the temperature and ventilation. If that's a spare bedroom that would be cool because than you can just light proof the room and still be able to get better ventilation.

yes, its a spare room so im not worried about the light leaks. its already hard trying to vent the closet.

two to four depending on strain and veg time
