Great work FF, I've done the same thing for my wife, but all I get is a bad time. OK, so she doesn't smoke or drink, but you would think she would appreciate my effort, right?
Enjoy...

Hey guys!! Nice room!

In my room I had to go to a larger carbon scrubber, the smell gets terrible during flower and esp at harvest. In an attempt to go cheap, I've tried everything on the market. The only thing that really works is a carbon scrubber.

Mine is vented out a 4 inch dryer vent, hooked to a 4 inch vortex and then to 6 inch 16lb carbon scrubber. Works great now, zero smell!!!

Also the wire shelves make great drying racks. I have a drying box made out of a 20 gallon rubbermaid with 2 PC fans, 1 for intake and 1 for exhaust and used chicken wire inside for shelves. But it dried it too much too fast. The wire racks dry my grow in 2-3 days.

Also mylar looks great but behind it can grow mold and I don't want that in my house or in my room, so I white paint the walls with white Koolseal (Reflects 90%+ of the sun's rays)
koolseal.com: Product Detail (White Elastomeric Roof Coating)

Here's what a friend of mine found when he pulled his mylar down from a wall in his house, doh!

Good luck!!! Can't wait to see some grows coming outta those rooms!!

QUESTION #1

QUESTION #2

I have two questions.

First it looks like that scrubber is a DYI, nice job. I am getting ready to do mine and am wondering how many layers of carbon filter cloth to use. How many did you use and what is the CFM of the fan.

Second, how thick does the Koolseal paint go on? It seems like a rubberizzedpaint. I like that. The reason I ask is that the room I want to use it in has white walls already but it is a rough wood paneling (looks like planks) that the previous owner painted white (the whole basement in fact). If this stuff is too thick, it will fill the gaps and the room won't be consistent with the rest of the basement. Just thinking ahead for when I go to sell the house.

Thanks

Use super white matte latex paint.Good reflectivity and does not build up like rubberized paint.I've had good luck with it. I wash down walls with bleach too, and have no paint loss. Good luck.:peace:

That's a DYI carbon scrubber with 16lbs of carbon inside, no carbon filter, that just a dust filter on the outside. It is connected to a 4 inch vortex rated at 200cfm.

The koolseal goes on slightly thicker then paint but it won't fill gaps, it is easily applied with standard roller. It has a higher reflectivity then flat white paint and you can scrub the shit outta of it.

My first coat is primed with mildew resistant kilz primer followed by koolseal.

The best paint is titanium white, but hard as hell to find and very expensive.

Happy growing!

All my walls are covered with Kilz so I guess step one is done. 16 lbs of carbin! WOW!
That will scrub for quite some while. Must be two foam layers that the carbon gets poured into. Always thought that was the best setup. I'm a DYI, more for the principal than anything else.

Thanks for the reply. I'd ike to see how yor grow goes!

Oh yeah ,I forgot to mention anti-fungal Primer(Kilz). I primed the walls with it before painting. Helps with mildew.Cheers.
