My new grow shop and why.

I've grown tired of my grow shop and It's New this and improved that line up.I've grown in a handful of states using many shops with endless must have snake oils and products hawked by people with no experience.So I went to a (re)new to me grow shop recently and am ecstatic. My first visit I needed Roots Soilless blend I was trying and they don't carry. This time I needed nutes and something for my surprise/unprepared for clones a pal dropped off, to be planted into. My budget $20, 15 earmarked for GH flora bloom. I use my own version of the 3 part/lucas voodoo mix and have for almost 20 years, why because its what they had when I started and I made it work nicely. My red/purple stems removed with epsom salt a few times a cycle. So in I went radar locked for gh products,smile,nod to employees asking had I any questions. "Nope got what I want right here been using this for twenty yrs." "I'm sorry" says the guy 10yrs my senior jokingly. "It's what I know, I do need your cheapest medium I might have to use fiberglass insulation from my shed I'm broke". A gal recommended Roots 707 Soil a family favorite just add plant and water but a little pricey. He's lookin for cheap guy says. In stereo the two reach for coco blocks saying 2 bucks gets almost 3 gallons. I grabbed 2 and brought up my epsom salt use, your killing your microbes he says handing me a big CalMag sample,your clones can use this,rapid start rooting enhancer also a sample. I love free shit especially when I'm tapped but this was a guy that cared about plants. I'm always experimenting and having help w/o an agenda will make it more fun. Sounds a lot like the shop I found. If I put all the times together it wouldn't make 20 years & what I remember wouldn't make 6 months.LOL That rapid start sample worked pretty good.I'm fixing to put it to a good test soon,I used just a little so far,the next ones I'll give it a good try. The cal/mag won't kill the microbes?
I been using a little less than GH says to use,been thinking about the lucas formula,I wonder what your recipe is?

I thought I used 3 part full strength always 2tsp micro 3tsp/1tsp either way. Needed green 3 needed flower 3 and so on. Turns out my trusty teaspoon was 3mil instead of 5mil. I figure pretty damn near Lucas by way of intuition. I used epsom salt sparingly as color called. The eposom kills microbes my guy says and gave me CalMag to stop using it. Epsom seems to remove symptoms quicker but at a noticeable unknown cost. Feeding a 2.5' tall plant in a 2l bottle a gallon a day takes effort.

Hippies man its always hippies. Get 3 tea spoons and 3 syringes from diff locations most won't match. I am confident I measured it out when I started hydro. I had to the directions were only ml no conversions on "phone" no phone. It was my special spoon and had a spot I knew it why check it. The new stuff called for ml so I checked for shits-n-giggles.
