My Nodes Are Too Close Together!

dry period for coco is a nono
If the coco is too wet you got to let it dry. You got to train the plant's roots to search for nutrients early so it has a strong base.
Looks like the plant has been over fed that it doesn't need any more roots to grow.

Don't let it get 100% dry. But you gotta let the roots do there thing. 50% moist is the driest it should get give or take.

Bro. #1 u resurrected a thread about tight node spacing on GG.

GG.

@Romis I'm curious as to the advice ur passing out man who's room is the pic u posted up
Feel free to ask more questions and I can get into more details.

Dry backs work for both coco and rockwool from my experience.

Why don't you think it would work?

I wouldn't really call 50% moisture "dry" , merely when its fully dry as opposed to soil, which can go bone dry before causing an effect the only being a dry spell, drying coco fully will leech salts

the dryness in coco is akin to a low bucket in dwc, the coco really is just surface area for the water , unlike soil which retains it

Full lettuce
Please take everything I say as a grain of salt. It's just my opinion and everyone is entitled

From looking at this picture it looks like it is being over watered by the wrinkles on the leaves and the tight node structure.

When roots grow so should the plant's height (most of the time). It correlates together.
(GG4 is a stretcher so it's not normal for it to be that bushy)

Do you see any roots at the bottom of the pot? You want to train the roots to chase that gold mine.

I see hydroton and I have no experience with hydroton, but from my coco experience, you can't drown the plants but you can sure over water them.

That's as dry as you should let coco get for dryback.

Different mediums for different moisture content for drybacks.

Rockwool you can get it really dry, coco not so much.

when you get some height you can train it down again for even more nodes

nah definitely don’t over water. As I said 1 a day same time a day usually gets 500ml a day other wise it flows out of my drip tray. Never gotten bone dry other. Always check a knuckle deep make sure it’s moist
