Here’s where I’m at folks after 3 years of reading and growing.
Year #1. Outdoor plants
Grown in lots of cow manure and top quality native soil in the back 40. Manure was well rotted. Harvested from oct 1 to oct 20.
Many varieties.
All of them were the most disgusting smoke ever. Black resin immediately. Terrible burn. Terrible everything. Worst garbage ever.
But the plants looked beautiful and were tall and healthy. Tight buds good weight. I read up on how to dry and cure and had that working great. That was not the problem.
Year # 2 Outdoor plants
I figured manure was the culprit so I just planted in soil in the back 40 and gave it granular ferts once only in spring. That’s it. Our soil is good here naturally and these fields were being farmed. So lime and nutrients were there already.
The end product is junk.
Poor burn
Poor taste
Poor everything.
But slightly better then year 1
Year #1 and #2 indoor grow tent.
I finally got the hang of how to grow indoors during all this time as well. After many embarrassing crops I finally got a half decent idea what I’m doing.
Then the second last crop in my grow tent I accidentally burnt the plant a tiny bit with nutrients at week 4 of flower. It was in pro mix with added perlite. So I gave it a decent flush. Then proceeded to never fertilize it again because it just never showed any real need untill it was getting to be too late to add nutrients. That was 30 days of clear water. Nothing else.
Results.
Cleanest smoke I’ve ever had.
White ash.
Ash falls with a slight tap.
No resin at all.
Not the most potent but my guess based off trying government buds is that it’s less then 15% thc.
No paranoia
No headaches
The smoothness of this stuff is better then I’ve gotten at the government store as well. That’s right. The stuff the government sold me. Still doesn’t sound right.
So I’m sorry uncle Ben and all the no flushers but from now on im a flusher.
Smoking quality grown herb is something I didn’t experience on the east coast before mail order BC Bud.
Thank you British Columbia
