I use pretty much what anybody uses. I avoid the pricey custom nutrient mixes like Advanced Nutrients. Very expensive. I don't mind spending money once a real benefit is visible, but none of those products have shown markedly superior results.veggie, awesome grow man, hey would you mind running down your flower nutes/additives for me? just curious. thanks
I use several combinations of NPK that allow me to achieve NPK ratios of 2-1-1 for veg, and about 1-4-3 for flowering.
Granular mixes include 21-0-0, 16-20-0, 0-10-10 and 16-16-16. A little math and a measuring cup get me where I want to be.
I also add volcanic ash, epsom salts, and Ironite 1-0-1 for a wide range of micronutrients.
I no longer add carbs. Instead, I mulch heavily and let the bacteria convert the mulch into carbohydrates. Adding sugars seems to cause a lot of problems. A few years ago, several growers and I tried a variety of molasses type preparations, and all of us either saw no improvement in yield, or saw a marked decrease. Until someone can show me a good side by side study, I'll avoid sugar.
Providing a nutritious environment for the plants is always the goal. A healthy plant produces heavily. Any time I disturb the mulch, I find earth worms. Always a good sign.
