My plans, tips and corrections appreciated :)

Pretty soon I'll be gathering the materials needed to begin constructing my grow cab. Below is just a visual representation of how I'll be setting everything up. (Not in pic, but walls will be covered in mylar. Also, #5 is actually 400w CMH) Any tips or corrections are very much appreciated. Also attached is just a sketch of the dimensions I plan on having.

I'll be using this as a DIY carbon filter only with larger cups: https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html
My light will be a 400w CMH which I'll use for the veg and flowering stages.
I'm still trying to figure out what I need to get for an exhaust fan. I figured with those dimensions there's 48 cubic feet, so I would at least want a 100CFM fan to refresh the air 2x/min. Any help with ventilation would be awesome.

Just one tip comes to mind real quick, maybe two.... Don't sweat the dryer vent being painted black. A full moon will throw off more light than will come through that at ground level. Secondly, you may want two exhausts, one for the light and one that you scrub for odor. If your hood has glass in it, use a passive intake to draw outside air through the hood and back outside. It won't need scrubbing and it will be a good current of air. The carbon filter will suppress air flow and require a higher rated fan. You did good on the overall design, and keeping the ballast out of the box is a definite plus!

Good point, on all accounts. I was thinking based on what you said about the hood getting some PVC pipe and setting up something like this...

I would just have no idea how to build it. :P

Edit: Actually, scratch the pvc pipe. I would have to use dryer vent hoses, derp.

I've been reading jsgamber's threads and think I may implement some of his design into my cab. (Hope he doesn't mind. :P) What I'm looking at right now is the way he set up his lights; ingenious. Check it out.

A good picture of his awesome work. Definitely need to figure out how to make one of those. It also got me thinking... I won't really need a reflective hood if the walls are covered in mylar, will I?

Edit: ARGH but I keep forgetting! My cab is going to be tall because I plan on growing sativa strains, so I need the light to be adjustable. Once again, scratch all that. Back to reflective hood, chain links, and dryer vent hose.

To add cooling to the light, I plan on getting some glass to go over my light, with pvc pipes attached to it. The pvc pipes will connect to dryer vent hose so I can still adjust height. I don't really know what to do beyond that. Should I have another exhaust fan connected to the dryer vent hose, and a reg. fan on the other side to blow cool air through? Or just another exhaust fan and intake hole? Maybe a fan for intake and just a hole for the air to pass through? Gah, I just don't know.
