My Plants - Day 5 and Day 55

This is the first time I have grown or the first time I have attempted to upload pictures - so keep the expectations reasonable.
I am pleased with my plants. First week I followed bad advise and nearly killed them with EC 1.8 and pH 7.4 reservoir water
Then I bought EC and pH meters and it's been much better,
But the overfeed caused leaf tip nute burn symptoms and stunted their growth for a few weeks.

You live, you learn....

Looking good.

You may want to consider trimming up some bottom growth for better air circulation under your canopy.

You should've seen them before I trimmed them down on 1st of the year....I have a 12lt bucket FULL of shredded stems and leaves....
But, if you think I should take off more of the underside growth, i'll have a look in thee morning.

At what point of the flower phase do buds start to show?
(I know variables apply - i'm looking for a basic guess).

Pistils will show between day 5 and 14 in most grows.

Buds are clusters of pistils and calyx's (calyx is where the pistils come from) they stack together and form the "buds".

Full flowering where you start to see buds instead of pistils is generally after that day 14.

For trimming up your plants I do the following.

I draw an imaginary line 1/3 up from the bottom of the plant.

Anything below this line gets removed.

Fuck me that's drastic!

They're clones and have a very distinctive, strong side branch coming out very low on the main stem....
But I'll butcher them a little more
All for the good of the plant.

If you want to keep the side branching that's ok too.

But if the side branch has growth below that line, remove the growth.
