Thank you!No...you'll see amber several weeks before harvest. Patience is the hardest thing for new growers to develop. Around here it's usually early-mid October for outdoor crops. Your place will be no different. Post some pics on this thread and people will tell you.
BTW...somewhere I saw you said something about 75% amber trichs. Don't do that. People who KNOW what they're doing say from 10-20%, 25% amber at the most.
Hi neighbor! I'm Eugene area!Thank you!
I had asked this question in a thread in Harvesting and Curing yesterday, but hadn't gotten a response on it. I was confused, because by my count, I'm on day 45 of flowering (first observation of non pre-sex flowers) on a 56 day strain. Almost all the trichs are clear, but I do spot some amber ones here (like 1%) and there and it was making me wonder if I was perhaps closer than I thought I should be. If the tips of the pistils are just starting to turn color, is my time estimate of 13 days about right?
Its been a little cool and wet in the central valley of Oregon (Duck alum living in Beaver land) so I am wondering if that could slow down my estimate, but then the amber trichs were making me wonder if it would be sooner, so this answer helps me, again, thanks!
Pic is from day 44.
Here's pics. First 2 of GDP 1. Second 2 of GDP 2. Next 2 of GDP 3. Last 2 of Lemon Kush. Aren't they beautifulShow me a couple of pics and I will be able to guesstimate how long you have. I have about 2-3 weeks total for me left.
BTW I was born in Grenada Hills. I was only there as a baby and my parents moved us to Northern Cali.
Hey hey! Used to live in Eugene, also Veneta, for quite a while. Eugene is great, although getting more yuppy than hippie nowadays.Hi neighbor! I'm Eugene area!
Did u see where I asked nicely? I would be just so grateful and stoked if you did. Here's what I'm doing with mine. I fed 'em this AM. One of them (Jager) is noticeably ahead of the other two. With my cheap handheld scope, I can see anywhere from 5-15% amber right now. My next feeding would be Tuesday the 29th of this month. I may or may not feed that one again. I may harvest some of the tops, not all the buds, just some of the tops right around the 1st of October. The other two, Blue Dream / Grape LA are looking like they're still 2 weeks away, but this is the time of year where things change quickly.
You don't have to harvest everything at the same time. Whichever one of your GDP's I told you looked like it would be ready first, (I think it was GDP#2), feed that one one last time, flush if you feel you must for a week and take some of the tops. The point I'm trying to make is you probably won't stop feeding all your plants at the same time.
If you ask nice, I could stop by. Too bad I let my Duck football season tickets lapse.
They really are. Look to be a little ahead of mine. Here's pics. First 2 of GDP 1. Second 2 of GDP 2. Next 2 of GDP 3. Last 2 of Lemon Kush. Aren't they beautiful
Thank you!

First of all, don't believe what the seed breeders say. It ALMOST always takes longer than they suggest.
From looking at the bud, I believe you have at least two weeks if not longer to go until ready to harvest.
3 things happen.
1) Your white Pistills (hairs) will turn dark (brown, red, purple, orange) and recede into the calyxs (buds)
2) The entire plant looks done. Just like tomatos, beans, lettuce, etc. Cannabis is no different.
3) You get a desirable ratio of Clear to Cloudy to Amber trichs. New clear ones are being produced all the time. A lot of people use 10% clear, 75% cloudy, 15% amber, but that's not SET IN STONE. To me I see a bunch of whitish trichs and far less amber ones.
Sorry to hear you're in Beaver country. Good luck with your grow.
Looks like you have a 2-3 week period left. That one GDP that is further along looks to be about a week out though. You are almost there! Here's pics. First 2 of GDP 1. Second 2 of GDP 2. Next 2 of GDP 3. Last 2 of Lemon Kush. Aren't they beautiful
Still seeing a lot of white hairs. I'd feed 'em again a time or two depending on your schedule. Here's pics. First 2 of GDP 1. Second 2 of GDP 2. Next 2 of GDP 3. Last 2 of Lemon Kush. Aren't they beautiful
Yes ma'am.......PM me with an address or a meetup spot. Don't put it on my profile page because anyone can read it there, I think. Sunday around noon-1PM could work.Did u see where I asked nicely? I would be just so grateful and stoked if you did.
Thanks - I got it. It's what I was leaning toward - that it was actually a little more than 13 days away, but wasn't positive. Nice to have it confirmed. Thank you very much. And they are right near some tomatoes that are starting to look done as plants, so I know what you mean.Somehow I quoted you twice. This social media shit is above my pay grade anyway, but my reply is hidden in the above post.
