Hello to all who will take interest.....
I am new to this site, yet I have used it as a reference for many years when looking up Q&A's regarding the grows Iv'e had problems with in the past. I have been reluctant to try growing in any other medium other then soil or what I've used for the past 3 years (coco), no reason why as I just continued doing what I know works. This past year Iv'e completed 1 succesfull grow from seed to flower with a flood and drain set up. Now realizing how little effort comes along with maintaining a water set up, I don't think I will be going back to soil or (coco).
With the advice from the local hydroponic store, as I had plenty of Coco's A&B food and didn't have money to spend on buying food specificly geard for water. He recomended an aditive that I could add to my Coco's A&B so that it could be used in my flood and drain set up. Well, It work but NOT with the greatest results! Yes at the end of the day, I had a good flower but I know from my past experiences, that it could have been way better!
Now on to the present and why I decided to join this site after all these years.....
I have now gone to a DWC set up. I love it!!! I had tried it b4 but due to my previous location, I was unable to control the water temp. Now that I am in a different setting, I can now control the temp probs I was having at my previous location. Everything was going great for the 1st 2weeks that I had my new baby girls in my DWC set up. I was using the same Coco's A&B with an additional nute as I had mentioned b4 when doing my grow with a flood and drain. Come to realize now that I am going into my 3rd week of veg that, this food IS NOT WORKING!!! Well it worked when I used this same combo for my flood and drain. Though I am the stubbarn type and usually have to fail at something b4 I try something else, lol @ myself for not knowing better says common sense.....
I have now spared the expense and bought the appropriate nutes for my girls for my DWC set up.
That all being said, just yesterday I noticed that within a 12 hour period the bottom leaves had started to curl and small rust colour spots started appearing on the lower leaves. Well I did not take any chances with my girls and immeadiateley flushed them and let them stay in plain PH'd water for 24 hours. Like I had mentioned, I have now bought the appropriate nutes and my girls seem to be re-adjusting and doing well.
Now to the "main" reason why I have joined this site.....
I was looking for a strain with as high a level as possible without having a destinctive smell. As described, "TD" was a cup winner and has a fruity citrus type of aroma. Not to mention all the bad reviews I have read up on regarding this strain "TD". As I've mentioned, I am the type that likes to find things out for myself as well as I enjoy and take pride in doing what others say is difficult. I guess this attribute of mine comes from years of being told by many on many different topics, that it can't be done or it's too hard or as many have said.... The product just sucks! So don't waste my time.
Well things seem to be going just fine for the moment, I hope that "TD" does not disapoint as I've read many complaints on this strain. My intent is to grow 2 ladies to full maturity to become mothers to then clone, to which I will only Veg for 1 week then flower. With all the bad talk about this strain, its given me the drive to succed at this grow! So I will keep updating my progress, as well any feed back on this strain "TD" would be greatly apreciated! Any tips? Any tricks? Any advice regarding "TD" would be great!
Enjoy and thx to all!!!!
