My veggie garden

I want to show off my veggie garden...so here it is :). It has been growing good and strong except for the fact that the caterpillars have been eating away at my brussel sprout plant leaves. I use for pesticide, a mix of hot chili peppers, garlic and a little bit of soap. I am not sure if this mix is ineffective of caterpillars or if it is just because of all the rain I have been getting that has been washing the pesticide off the plants and the caterpillars take advantage. Any advice from organic growers who know about organic pesticides for caterpillars? Will the pesticide that I am using work against caterpillars? Im looking to make something homemade as I do not want to go to the store and spend $$$ on pesticide. Heres some pictures of the garden though. :)
ofcourse the pictures wont show....

Here's what I would change if that was my garden and this might be an idea for you to try out.

1 - Raised beds
2 - Square foot gardening
3 - Braking your garden up so that your not walking on the ground that the plants are in.
