ive been using a product called Myco Madness and its a humboldt nutrient product.

the couple of questions i have are.

the myco madness is "Black" in color and i noticed that other mychorizae is white in color.. is this an inferior product?

also it is to my understanding that chlorine will kill these living micro organisms (tap water), but the question is, will letting your reservoir sit for a few days or like 72 hours with bubble stones evap enough chlorine to make it safe to use mychorizae effectively, or am i waisting my money and killing them?

thanks RIU!

I get mine from Fungi Perfecti www.fungi.com They have been in business since 1985 or so, one of the first and their product is black, if that answers your question.

Mycos aren't all that delicate. My garden and outside plants get watered right from the hose and are doing fine. You would need something like the chlorine levels in pool water to do significant damage.

I use roots organics Oregonism XL. It's the same thing, my fungi is a dark deep brown, almost black, in color. I noticed insane results with the addition of this fungi. I have heard absolutely great thing about humbolts too, and they usually carry good products. I think you will be just fine as I was. My roots are all thick and white now, I also bought at 13gal reservoir with an airstone at the bottom and this has made huge improvement also. My plants are willing to suck up mass amts of nutrients and the growth is explosive.

You really aren't seeing the color of the fungi spores between the different products. The color you are seeing comes from a carrier agent like clay (the spores are just scattered about and among the clay particles). Different products, different carrier agents, different colors. Really doesn't speak for quality or even the type of fungi.
