ok well, i was planning on growing indoors but realized that i'd be waiting too long to even start and if i started too early then i would get caught by parents because they wouldn't need to know about my growing for about another 2 years haha.

so i figured i'd try growing outdoors, but i have no idea where/when/how to start.

if anyone could just like help me out a little bit and just give me some starting instructions or tips or anything that would be awesome.

thanks!

when i started my plant i first put the seed in the ground late august. early september is when it sprouted. my plant is growing very well outside. i was worried that my parents would find it and i would get in trouble. luckly im to old for my parents to punish me. instead when my dad first saw the plant when it was like two days old he was actually suprised and i think he likes the idea. Now its more than 2 1/2 months later and my plant is looking NICE. im into the flowering stage and every day there are more and more trichomes. check out my progress https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/35193-pics-first-grow.html. I dont know if now would be the best time to start because its starting to get cold out. i plan to start my next project at the beginning of summer 2008. but if your gonna try i would try to find a spot that gets sun most of the day, and i would use a nice mixture of soil in a pot, i wouldnt put them directly into the ground that way you can move it if you need to. good luck.

dont plant on your parents property. try a guerilla grow, out in the woods somewhere. growing outdoors on their prop is worse than indoors!

awesome thanks man. that's the info that i needed to know. buuuut i still have a few more questions if you don't mind haha.

how many seeds do you think i should plant? and should i pot each seed separately or should i throw a few in one pot?

also, how many times a day/week did you need to water it?

and finally (i think), is the yield, potency, and quality the same as it would be for growing indoors?

thanks mann.

i live on long island too. plant in the early spring that way by the fall your plants are nice and big =)
on li theres mad woods so just try to find a spot and plant those bad boys
try to get as much seeds as you can. some might not sprout then half of the ones that do will prob be males. so get a buncha pots, put a seed in each and watch em grow.

i started with only one seed that i had. i really just wanted to see if it would grow. the more seeds you plant the more you can grow. i would use seprate pots. i watered this plant just about every day at the begining, i water it everyday now. potency indoor vs outdoor. i think that you could have a higher yeid and potency indoors becuase its all controled. outdoors if the weather is right im sure you could grow some good stuff.

true! well, i live more to the west so there isn't as much woods as the eastern part, but i'm sure i can find a spot. but yeah i was planning on doing it early spring cause it just makes more sense, the earlier in the season the longer you have for the plants to actually grow.

and this has nothing to do with growing, but i never heard anyone on here say "mad" yet, i guess its a long island thing? haha :]

lmao yeah it must be an island thing. haha
yeah im pretty far out east so theres woods all around my development. mad spots.
but yeah plant in the spring cause by the summer the days start to get shorter and once it reaches 12/12 the plants will start to flower. the earlier you plant them the longer they have to grow just make sure you wait till after the last frost to plant and you'l be good
-good luck

if your gonna do pots try to plant one seed in each. If you put mult. in one pot then they'll be fighting for space and water + if one turns out male it'll pollinate the other ones. you could always try to throw some in the ground too.

also i dont recommend watering everyday.
you should probably only have to water it maybe 3 or 4 times a week.
a simple rule of thumb is if the soil is bone dry a couple inches down then water it. If the top is dry but an inch down its moist then your still good.
