i have been watching vids and reading about it for over a year now just a little unclear on a few things. will have an update on monday probably
You're doing the right thing now. I can read all the books, all the articles, and watch all the movies, but it will never teach me the same as getting my feet a little wet. Make sure to try and get close to your plants. Touch them, feel them, talk to them, anything to get a better understanding of how the plant reacts to different situations. Then find how it works best for you.

Hemp4Victory - thanks mate, glad to see people being so helpful :)

Ok guys so it's not 100% finished but my babies are in their new home. They have 2 new lights, and im planning on getting another. Both the new lights are 24w cool daylight cfl's. Loves a good 5 finger discount lol.
So the seedlings are still growing, the tall one is looking quite strange, a dark purple/black colour underneath the leaves and around the edges on top, but still appears to be growing?! The smaller seedling is growing slowly, but surely. Just wondering if I should start some nutes, and if so, what?
Temps are around 20-27c in the box which I'm led to believe is good. Water has been sitting for a few weeks now.
Also, after over a week, the 4th seed out of 5 has broken the surface, hopefully you can see it in the photo!
Btw, today is the first day of 18/6, lights have been running 24/7 for a little over a week.

Ohh and to top it all off, it's 4/20!!!!!!!!!! I have nothing planned but definetely going to punch a few cones for everybody at rollitup bongsmilie

Why do you have them all in one pot man? Ive read this aint good, but I aint saying anything. Do you plan on transplanting them as they get a little stiffer or what.....? Reason Im asking is so I can find out for myself, not trying to knock anything, cuz I havent tried it yet.

Hey man, it's just an experiment as it's my first grow, just seeing how it turns out i guess. I have a huge pot, so they shouldn't get too root bound as far as im concerned. I'm also planning on adding more lights when I am able :)

Looking good. I have a few suggestions I would make though. First I would invest in some new soil. I cant quite tell what you are growing in, but it looks like it isn't the greatest choice. The seedlings will be slow until maybe week 2 under the CFLs then they should really kick in. I would wait until you have at least 3 or 4 internodes worth of growth before you consider nutes. Keep it up.

hey mate, im using potting soil atm, when i transplant to a bigger pot i am planning on using cow shit & potting mix with some ozmocote slow release fert in it. Is that okay for a plant in veg?

UPDATE

I have replaced the last of those crappy 15w bulbs, now there are 3 x 26w cool daylight bulbs. Having a bit of trouble with temperatures, Im looking into ventilation as of now.
Is it a problem if the box goes over 30 degrees?

grow looks good im starting my second grow with 2 plants outside and 1 in my attic. I usually take the humidity dome off after the first two leaves, that worked for me then, cool white lights are best for early stages of growth.(my first plant grew very nice and fast forabout three weeks with just one 26 watt cool white. But after a while adding lights gradually is good too.

Should be alright. As long as the soil is high in peat moss and pearlite and it is free of pests it will be fine. Cannabis is pretty resourceful. It will grow in just about whatever you put it in. I have no experience with slow release ferts though so I don't know how that aspect will go. I add all my fertilizers through the water. Should be fine.

Cheers for the feedback guys, yeah I've got 3 x 26watt cool white globes now, getting some computer fans this weekend hopefully to solve the heat issue. Will update in a few days.
How was everybody's 4/20??

hey man new recruit to the site i bin growin to clones for about 8 weeks veg n im jus about to cycle the light i can sucessfully say for a first grow and that limited space ill turn up about 3 0s and more clones to sell off and start agian i was first going to grow them in a single pot n was told not to because whe the roots start to tango ye tango it can stunt the process n youl be waitin a good 2 months for hights and with check up on it its all over the place QUICK while there not mixin up

Actually if having the roots tangle up stunts the growth that may help in this situation with the limitations to his space, or is there a plan to move them into a bigger space soon?

Nah mate no plans for any bigger spaces, this is it, so trying to keep it fairly small. If need be I may move them outside once they are big enough and continue more seedlings but we'll see how we go I guess.
update coming tomorrow!
