Nanolux OG 1000w vs Nanolux CHILL 1000w

So, i'm gonna start a new grow room in my basement. The room is approximately 14''/24''. I'm planning on putting 8 or 10 DE 1000w. At first I was looking at the nanolux OG and then I saw the nanolux CHILL. The CHILL has a air cooled that removes up to 60% of heat load.

My guy at the local shop told me that a lamp with a glass protector like the CHILL will gives my plants way less energy than a regular 1000w even tho the website says the glass decrease by only 8% the wattage.

I would prefer to go with the Chill cuz i'm afraid all the lamp will overheat the basement even tho I will have at least 2x2 tons AC. But I want the best result for my plants.

Also, maybe someone has another options instead of nanolux ??

Thanks

A lot of it depends on your ceiling height and climate. Not just for distance from the fixtures but also the extra cu ft of room help make the heat load from open reflector lights easier to deal with :peace:

"way less" was grow bro shop talk. The Nanolux website is more accurate for sure.
Not sure what is easily available to you there in Canada and I'm sure pricing will play into things as well.
8ft is pretty low when you factor in 36" between the lights and top of plants with a DE
The Cooled hoods may be the better choice.
There is the AC/DE by Sunlight Supply

Also, don't be afraid to contact these companies. Kieth at Nanolux I hear is a great guy and they can set you up with lighting layouts and all that since your planning a fairly hight number of fixtures.

One other avenue is using the older air-cooled hoods and pairing them with remote DE ballasts and the newer 2.1umole single ended lamps such as this Ushio, which is what I am running in my grow and couldn't be happier.

I run those lamps in Raptor Hoods and managing heat is no issue here in my cool coastal climate even with no ac.

One last thing to consider which peaks my interest are the Hellion DE's by Adjust a wing

You most certainly would be relying on A/C to provide the cooling with those :peace:
