I received my order of Motarebel Lung Candy yesterday, the last one until re-stock. I used their offer of 22% off, sent to those on the mailing list. I'm looking forward to it this Summer. The fact that NGR runs out of stock often tells me that the seeds are "fresh". I get regular e-mails telling of re-stocks. I've started some BOG seeds and they are vigorous.

All four of my Frozen Tangerines popped in 48 hrs. I left them too long on my boiler, where its warm but dark and they were all very pale when I put them under a cfl at 72. They quickly greened up and nine days in they all look great, if a little slow to shed their skirts! :bigjoint:

Three of four shells are still sticking to the first leaves, but only one needed a little assist to open, the third pic. All have lil guard hairs, I wonder if the second one actually has trichomes? Not the hair in the first pic, that's not a pistil either.

Might change my avatar to that last one... are those seed shells beautiful or what!:hump::hump:FT Seed1_0432.jpgFT Seed2_0425.jpg FT Seed3_0437.jpg FT Seed4_0446.jpg

Canon EOS 7D, with a 80-200 F4.0L lens. Its a standard telephoto so the macro comes from extension tubes. The camera and lens are pricey but the tubes are very cheap, like $50.

http://www.amazon.com/Xit-XTETC-Focus-Extension-Cameras/dp/B00ALNA09W

If you've a digital SLR with REMOVEABLE LENSES you can buy tubes to fit most bodies. 3 tubes can be stacked in different combos to do 1:1 macro or better. Lens imperfections are magnified with the image, so better glass actually matters, and depth of field is extremely narrow so focusing is a beeatch.

Being as I'm unintentionally unemployed photographer right now, I wish you could too... :-|

You're good to go with that D80 tho, just look into those extension tubes, and use your longest lens. Takes a while to get good at it but learning macro is fun. Check the Wasabi brand for cheap but descent aftermarket camera chargers and batts.
