Our concentrates for super soil/living soil are to be mixed with organic potting media such as Roots Organics, Fox Farm (Ocean Forest & Happy Frog are very popular with our customers) or Dr. Earth which is available at Home Depot and other box stores. Our concentrate contains all organic ingredients including all the nutrients your plant will need from seed to harvest. Our concentrate is teeming with beneficial microorganisms and fungi designed to help develop a healthy roots system. These microorganisms form a symbiotic relationship with the roots and provide water and nutrients to the roots. The living soil will take care of most of your plants root system needs. See the bottom of this page for the different ways you can use Nature’s Living Soil concentrates.
WAYS TO USE NATURE’S LIVING SOIL
Super Soil Technique:
1. Add 1lb (1 bag) of Nature's Living Soil concentrate for every 1.5-2 gallons of organic potting soil to make a ready to use Super Soil (about 1/3 of a 5 gallon container)
2. Fill a container 1/3 full with the super soil from step 1 and 2/3 with organic potting soil.
3. Plant and water from seed to harvest

Living Soil Technique:
1. Thoroughly mix 1 lb of Nature's Living Soil concentrate for every 5 gallons of organic potting soil to make a ready to use Living Soil
2. Make a small hole, about the size of a 16oz cup, and fill with organic potting soil.
3. Plant and water from seed to harvest
Top Feeding:
1. Sprinkle a thin layer of Nature's Living Soil concentrate on the top of the soil and water.
Compost Tea:
Add 2-3 heaping tablespoons of concentrate and one tablespoon of un-sulfured black-strap molasses per gallon of water and let stand for 24 hours.
Making your own potting soil:
Ingredients:
6 gallons sphagnum peat moss or coir fiber (preferred)
4.5 gallons perlite
6 gallons compost or earthworm castings (preferred)
1 pound Nature’s Living Soil Concentrate
Mix the ingredients thoroughly

Recycling Your Living Soil
Once you have gone through a growth cycle you can reuse the soil as your base potting mix on the next planting

thank you. I have read that and followed those steps this far. Ive found several threads in here that say ‘from seed to harvest’ is not in fact the case and that additional nitrients need to be added to get through flowering. the threads were old so i didnt know if i should post in that or start a new one?

It's pretty common for soil to run out of gas during flower. Plants take on a hungry, lime green kinda color, then leaves yellow and drop off.

If you have more of the Nature's Living Soil concentrated dry nutrient mix you could probably get away with top dressing your plants with some of that stuff, maybe 2 weeks or so into flower.

You could use another all-in-one flowering fertilizer like Dr Earth "Flower Girl" bud and bloom booster to top dress your plants. Or Happy Frog "Fruit and Flower."

One guy gets great results using cheap, easy to find Jobe's Organic Fertilizer Spikes.

Some "organic" growers don't like to use any kind of bottles, other guys think they're cool. I haven't used Big Bloom myself, but I've read that other guys do, so that should work OK. The key with liquid fertilizers is not to use too much. Often the recommendations on the bottle are a little strong. Maybe search around a little and see if you can find a good dosage, or a thread about how some other guys have used it.

Mold or fungus growing on your soil usually isn't a bad thing. Non scientifically, it's like the fungus in your soil "reaching out" to consume and break down organic material so your plant can use it (citation needed). Now mold on your plants is bad...

Eventually try to use dry fertilizers to save time and money.
And yes, jobes tree spikes are the shit. Put them in a week or two before flower and u can just water.

Great. There were a bunch of different jobes spikes. Which should i use? I assume the package will instruct me on usage amd ill cut that down per @youraveragehorticulturist
I use the fox farms line of nutes. The big bloom is good. It is supposed to be used in conjunction with tiger bloom. Big bloom is a 0-5-5 tiger bloom is a 2-8-4.

With these I started at 20% of recommended and still got a tiny bit of nute burn. But very tiny. I wouldnt suggest using the recommended dosage at all.

I've used NLS for a few grows. I'm still learning it. But, while I think it is good to give it a boost of tea or top dressing just as the plants enter pre-flower. I DON'T recommend using NLS as the top dressing. It has too much N for the bloom phase and I had some N toxicity. (I can't say that NLS alone was responsible.) You can decide what you want to use, but next time I will be using BuildABloom from BuildASoil in Colorado.

Good luck with the grow. It's a wonderful adventure.
