DUDE, lmao! you have no fire extinguishers?!?! WTF?! buy one for the kitchen first off, than one for the car, than one for the grow op in the back. fuck man your asking for something bad to happen, this is why is LAW for apartments to supply fire extinguishers in there kitchens! because fires happen, and that doesnt mean you need to lose your house for it! please brother man take the cash go to lowes and buy those mother fucking extinguishers!!!! even if it hurts the pocket book man, its well worth it! especially if a fire ever starts, your not home, and your kids use it! it could save lives. i know no one thinks about it, but shit, im fucking paraniod!

My question is, why in the hell would you have flammable liquids anywhere near a hot bulb, busted or otherwise? :o

before you just go and buy a fire extinguisher. Please read this:

http://www.fire-extinguisher101.com/

different types for different fires.

in a 120 year old house (assuming the electrical hasn't been redone(which im sure it has) I'd be looking for a class C.
i live in a 100 year old building too. i have 2 extinguishers and i dont know what either are. i should probably look into it. i assume one is foam and one water

There's a big difference between grow lights and regular bulbs. But, by all means, do your laundry in the dark.
i am always nervous about the laundry room & the gas. there's a lot of chemicals in there too. there is an extinguisher on the wall, as if it may go on fire at any moment. i moved the extinguisher into the kitchen. if that room goes on fire i wont be able to get to that wall to get the extinguisher. the peron who put it there must be real smart.

theres fire extinquishers for different fires, and none have water! all use either foam, or chemical. fire extinguishers CAN remove the oxygen from a small area so NEVER shoot one in someones face. remember PASS, pull pin, aim, squezze handle, sweep side to side. There Are intrinsically safe bulbs, which mean there safe for hazardous enivroments, IE a small closet containing a fuel burning machine. Simple safety precautions can make a potentially hazardous enviroment safer to work in and live around. I only stress this because i had an uncle who lost a house due to small electrical repair gone awry, and nothing to put it out but the water house. which is grossly ineffective against an electrical fire. in fact hes lucky no one got electricuted. Think of that ladies and gentlemen, just because a fire started via something else, doesnt mean it couldnt get electrical FAST, meaning you trying to play fire fighter with the waterhose could end up in electricution.

Evita Peron? :p

I have an fire extinguisher hanging outside my grow area. We have such a dry climate that wood tends to be extremely flammable. A house can be engulfed in minutes. I hate fire.

good job! ABC type are great because they handle anything from wood to grease to electrical. a all in one, only thing missing is the D type but thats for chemical fires and i dont think you have that many industrial chemicals in your house! lol. ABC is great tho, also get a few of them, make sure there all properly charged, and if you ever accidently discharge one, or decide you want to demonstrate to your children the proper way of using one(which i highly advice), you can always take them to the local fire department for a recharge, i dont know how much theyll charge but im sure its not as much as buying a new one. remember it trully is a tragedy when you lose something to something you could have prevented.
