looking for some advice on organic pesticides. I have heard using hot peppers...but what kind and how to i make it applicable to the plants. I got a good pressure sprayer from local hardware store to apply a mist of an application. someone also said try garlic oil or neem oil. I do not want to ruin the taste or potency though. My plants are in the veg stage right now. Noticing little holes on two of the lower leaves.

It sounds like it is a good idea for me to go grab a magnifying glass.

I'd like to find an organic pesticide that works through harvest. Want something guaranteed to work.

Then next season cuz i am growing outdoors. I will put in plants that attract lady bugs and praying mantis. any recommendations on plants that these bugs like, and any other bugs that kill typical marijuana killing bugs. and definitely the plants that the bugs like to be around in a natural habitat. I have heard planting something that lady bugs naturally like and are attracted to is much better for you than going and buying a box full of them and expecting them to stick around and eat your little pests.

I'm thinking that is the ideal way to do it. but i can't righ now just need to get through this season.

Thanks for the help!

ceilingbeds,
This grow (my first), I noticed my plants lower leaves were starting to get munched on by something. I wanted to act fast so I tried the first effective organic option I read about: neem.
Since then, I've been mixing a neem concentrate with a few drops of castile soap and water and then spraying it on the leaves (tops and bottoms) and stems. I read that it should be applied every 7-14 days, early in the morning or when the plants aren't in direct light so as not to cause burning.
So far I've sprayed this solution twice. After the first spray the holes stopped spreading and the visible insect population was almost entirely gone. After my second spray everything appears to be in control and the plants are looking noticeably healthier.
It should be noted that neem is not a 'contact kill' pesticide. It reduces the presence of insects by disrupting the insects reproductive processes and by simply repelling them. This being said, many neem oil concentrates (including the one I've used) come mixed with another, contact kill, pesticide called pyrethrin. Pyrenthrin is also organic but still rather dangerous for mammals, birds, and fish so be careful.
Let me know what your results are.

Best,
Verdant Stroke
