I will be starting my first grow next month and need some advice on my strain choice. I want to grow two strains with one being sour d(my fav strain) however im clueless as to what the other should be..... other than i know i want an indica, a yielder, and a somewhat forgiving/easy to grow strain (if that makes any sense). I live CO and have access to what seems like a great deal of genetics. Any thoughts on GDP for a noob? Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

sour d likes extra cal mag and nitrogen in flower and to get themost out of her i would go at least 9/10 weeks flowering if not more.it sounds like you will be growing clones? Have not grown GDP so no advice but just remember not all purple plants turn purple. So dont get your hopes up. Happy growing peace.

Bubba is great but isn't a heavy yielder. Gotta veg it a long time to get it to yield. But that takes $ and time. SO yeah, still a good choice IMO... most indica lovers fav in my experience.

If you can get a pre 96 Sensi Star cut that could be interesting too although it tends to be more racy.

My first grow and its 710 cheese from attitude seed bank. Easy to grow very resilient to stress/ light sceduale mistakes/ and I've done a shit ton of supercropping and low stress training. And scrog it out. I cut away the scrog and she's strong enough to hold her self up. So stinky like juicy fruit on steroids. And I dried a small tester nug and smoked it and even dried like that it tastes so dam addictive. I'd highly reccomend it

Wow! Thanx for all the info peeps. Didn't think I was getting any responses on this. I have been doing research on growing sour d and I'm definetly seeing that she is a little finicky and takes some effort to get her dialed in. I'm such a fan of her..... I'm down for the work. Even though I like the idea of having purple flowers I really like GDP for the smoke. Yes it would have some cool bag appeal....by its in my top 5 strains I have smoked. Most of the strains u guys mention I don't really seem to see where I'm looking (mostly Craigslist and some clone dispensaries). Yes BTW I'm starting from clone.

Is it a good idea to be trying to do to somewhat unsimilar strains in the same tent (An indica and sour d)? Different flowering time, growth patterns, needs, ect. Don't want to put too much on my plate being a noob....ya know...KISS

Any Bodhi clones available around you? Sunshine Daydream and Blood Orange are two Indica hybrids of his that I have grown, and both are excellent.

Good luck

One thing to watch out for. When I grew a NYCdiesel; Ir was gigantic, (Sativa dominant) Growing a short Indica beside that will present you with height difference issues. Good Luck

p.s. Favorite Indica "Blueberry"

You can manage that. Pick up a few tomato cages and use the rungs to tuck and tie branches off. Easiest way to manage your canopy IMO.
