Need a mechanics advice

I can probably get 4K for it, if I don't tell the buyer, but karma is a bitch. I would like to buy a old RV and live up in Oregon for the summer.. lol

If you must use a sealer use the bottle of copper stuff.

Make sure to follow the directions and drain all coolant even heater core.

That the problem with sealers. They can not mix with coolant or it clumps up and causes blockages.

Smelling coolant in the cab usually indicates heater core leak

g o back to your exhaust pipe rub your finger in there if you smell antifrezze in the sot .you should take it to a mechanic for a leek down test.they do make a fail safe thermostat for it .that is what i would replace it with .if you take it to a mechanic have him also do a combustion leak test ,that kit is pricey mine cost quite a bit .it tells you were you gases are going .sometime coolant will burn straight out the exhaust if you have a bad head and it want show up in your oil or coolant .doooooooon't put any i'm gonna fix it shit in it ,when work on one thats had that crap in it i charge extra because it take alot to get that shit flushed out

From my understanding, a bad heater core will drip on the passagers side of the floor board, mine is dry

that smell could also be coolant burning off the manifold ,have you ever replaced the heater hose i'm just saying the worst thing you can do is try to pull of the old hose ,always cut it with a knife long ways and peal it off slowly those heater cores are easy to break.i still say take it to mechanic so you won't be sorry in the long run ,it's a bitch breaking down and it always happens when you don't want it to

That's why I said don't use it. I have used in on some beater that were not worth fixing.

You have to get every drop of antifreeze out and flush heater core.

Pure clean water in the system if you have to use it.

Advance and auto zone both have loaner tools. You pay a deposit and get it back when you return tools.

You can get everything from compression gauges to bearing presses to harmonic balance pullers.

I tend to buy a manual and any tools needed for a job so does my dad.

Between us I have close to 50 manuals and just about every tool you can think of.

It takes years to accumulate but its worth it.

Use a manual to replace the head gasket.

It will show you step by step. It will also show you what order and how many lbs to tighten bolts.

Make sure when pulling the head to first index cam timing marks and may as well consider a new timing belt at that time.
