this is my first grow and i'm happy so far with what I see but i'm bugged about one particular thing.

I never knew what strain this particular plant was but i think its sativa dominant. Any thoughts from anyone on this? I only ask because over the last few weeks it started flowering rather quickly and didn't pay much notice to it until maybe 2 weeks ago becuase i was expecting this to flower in October for some reason.

Would you say it's probably in it's 4th or 5th week of flowering? Or does it look a little less than that? What do ya'll think

I thought i had more vegging to go but not :( so i started with a flora nova lowering base and booster for one week and now with the same base and liquid kool bloom. I'm gonna start with some molasses tomorrow. I've heard wonderful things about this.

so if anyone could comment on maybe how more weeks this plant could flower more for that would be awesome. I've been told to consider working off of a 6 -8 week schedule. Right now my trichomes are all clear so i figure i've got a couple of more weeks (???)

thanks to everyone who read this :)

Its gotta be a hybrid of some sort with the density of buds and clusters I'm seeing, but one things for certain, its dominated with beauty! I would say yeah, about four to five weeks in. The end of september to the first week of october. Yeah, give it some mollasses, bring out the flavor and increases the weight. looking nice!

thats a good article but the reason i'm wondering which week i'm in is so that i can plan to use a ripener and then flush. i don't want to come to see that i see signs of needing to harvest if i still need a week to flush...

if i do that won't i be off or have flushed too late??

You got it right, it looks like it's about 4-5 weeks in for sure. I agree, looks like a hybrid, it's not a pure sativa, and it looks like it'll be done in 3 more weeks or so, for a total of 8 weeks flowering. I would feed another week to 10 days and then cut off the food. It looks great bro, good job, keep it up!

thanks wheezer, phil and chasmtz! Are ripeners really necessary...i mean wouldn't the plant ripen on its own?? Does it just speed the ripening up or something? I'm considering maybe doing without this type of additive and just do nutes and molasses and a sweetner for the next two weeks.

i think cutting nutes off early, or weakening them over the course of weeks the cutting them off is good for the plant in so many ways. I agree with that advice. :)

well, that's basicallyall you need to do if the plants were not overfed with synthetic nutes. You don't have to dump tons of water to "flush " the plants, you just want them to use up the nutes that are available.

I love molasses! Love it.cheap and full of all the stuff you want for a good ripening, if you can give it a compost tea that would be great too. Commercial ripeners can be good but aren't worth their money when other alternatives are just as good, almost, and ten percent the price.

thank you....i thought that it would ripen enough from all the other nutrients its getting but i'm not knowledgable enough to know what a plant needs to ripen and if it's getting it already from the additives and bases.

I've been consistently using CalMg, Silica & SuperThrive as my additives...not so much silica now but i feel confident in what i've done so far. I hope the molasses will show some results in the next two weeks.

thanks!
