need advice effectively cooling an air cooled hood

I have a 600w MH air cooled reflector with a with approx 10" of flexible ducting.slight bends where the ducting attaches to the reflector but straight going otherwise. Will a 160 cfm simple ductfan (also known as a duct booster) adequetly cool my reflector? I am hoping so because i already spent like 250 on a 6" vortex to exaust my tent and the booster retails for like 50 bucks. I was told to use the vortex to cool the light and exaust the tent but i was hoping to have seperate systems

Vortex should be used with the light, that much CFM just for ventilation alone a little overkill no?

What about the vent tube connected to hps with Single bathroom fan attached to other end. But the fan not put by a window?
 
dude, whats the problem?

use the shity inline duct fan, to bring in fresh air.... then use the large fan to pull thru a carbon filter to clear the tent of odor..then thru the hood...to the fan and out the room...

so the little shity fan brings much needed fresh air and co2......the the high flow fan..removes heat and odor from the room (carbon filter) then pulls heat out of the hood and pumps it out of the room....since you already scrubbed the air....its clean of smell...just heat...shit, vent it out the window,lol

the problem with that is i need to run two seperate systems. I want to constantly cool my light without venting the air inside the tent as it will be CO2 enriched so there will be few times that my exaust will be running , making the air cooled hood useless if its all one system.Good idea if i wasnt running CO2 as i could run one system all the time cooling the hood and exausting the tent.

yea i thought that 400 something cfm for 104 cubic feet might be overkill too. I could use the 160 cfm booster for exaust but only prob there is i dont think its powerful enough for the carbon filter and the 8 feet of ducting. Could have 2 vortex one primarily for the light the other for carbon filter and venting that would eliminate any doubt but my budjet is a little tight and the booster is cheap.

Here is what you do. Run a passive intake for your light and have to vortex pull air threw the passive intake and light. so ducting infor the light and duciting out for the light. Pump your tent full of co2 with no leaking. Vent out with the carbon scrubber once and a while. you need another fan..

Yes, the booster should be enough to cool your 600w hood and lamp. I had a 6" booster fan cooling 2 1kw hoods effectively, the exhaust from the hoods was directed towards a 6" exhaust but was not enough to vent out the hot air quick enough. An 8" would have done the job though. Too solve the overheating I just attached the 6" vortex inline with the hoods. It worked but still need an upgrade to 8".

got the booster installed no real cooling effect so i think the vortex will be used to inline with the carbon scrubber and hood gonna use the booster 4 forced intake.Guess ill scrap the c02 cause i cant afford another to use special for the light

I just bought a 500 cfm inline fan and Im running it through my 1k cool tube and it doesnt seem to be doing the job... not sure where I went wrong but the light is still putting out blazing tempetures

The 500 I bought is the same type as what you were talking about (just the 8 in) and its not doing shit err...

Not as efficient as you would probably like... A 600w hood is gonna need more than 160cfm being drawn through it, to moderatly remove your heat from the light...
