Need Advice... Lighting upgrade, small grow...

Lets say i or someone wanted to make a smaller grow a bit bigger.. Instead of adding One larger light im thinking of adding two 250W lights and reflecters...

A FEW FACTS

The tent would be 3x3x7 feet... DR100 Dark room Jaden...
EasyCool 6 Reflectors will be used.. TWO i am thinking...
here is some info..

The EasyCool 6 is a mid-sized reflector with MAXIMUM performance. The EasyCool 6 features built in 6” cooling flanges, an innovative hinged and gasketed tempered glass lens, and an ADJUSTABLE (up and down) socket bracket. The reflective insert is high efficiency 95% reflective textured aluminum. The heavy duty housing features sturdy steel construction and a durable white finish.

These are sealed with a peice of glass as it says above so this would be an inclosed system... Something like this excuse my non paint skills...

....Woops forgot to add that the grey lines are 6" venting... Anyway i would use a two to one Y splitter for both sides and push it out and away from the grow area...

Once again ill be useing two Pretty large reflecters that will make huge light coverage and also two points of light... Does this sound like a good idea?? So far during trials the light stayed totally cool up to 1 inch from the glass.. the lights could be kept way down near the plants and the canopy is kept even to utilize this coolness.. Currently a small inline 6" fan moves air through and another one supports it at the other end... This works great with one reflecter and light..

I have just a few questions

1. Is this a good idea and would it be comparable or even better then a single 600W Light in the same reflecter?... This would be done with great care put into keeping the canopy level...

2. What type of fan.... CFM wise would be needed to keep this enclosed system cool moving air through two air sealed 6" reflecters.. Square...next to eachother hooked up with venting with a Y connecter on either side and venting to move hot air away...

3. Can anyone suggest a better idea?? an alternative might be a 600Wer.. Temperatures are stable at around 72 degrees year round.. so far avg temp 75 day 65 night...this leads me to believe more light can be used.. this is ovbiously the limiting factor being experienced.. that and c02...

Thanks for your patience and rep plus for help...

Sorry this is so long but im finally finished...

A lifetime Student of our favorite plant....

I forgot one of them is a 250W Digital ballast.. in this original post im thinking about making it two 250W Digital ballasts just for the record..

What type of fan would i need to cool two of these Ceramic MH?? How much are the ballasts or is it just the bulb?

cant be used with e-ballast only hps magnetic coil

I would just get a 400w HPS ballast, they can run both HPS and MH for flower and veg..

what up Apo

Everything you talked about is good. A 6'' fan should have a enough cfm to do both hoods. havnt seen the hoods, but i do like the adjustable mogul socket option. 2 points of light source will be better than 1. you should be able to keep a very even canopy. That is a good amount of light for that space. Just make sure your blowing cold air through and not hot air through the duct and light. good results come from good prep

what type of fan would be needed to suck air out of air cooled sealed hoods... for two 250Wers? For two 400 Watters?

Thanks for all your help my man you laid it all out there for me thanks for the lead!

What about one of what i have now and one 400w ceramic MH with the HPS white bulb?

vapo you ideas seem sound wearther you go 250 + 400 or 1 600 or what ever you decide just run that ducting straight as possible all thous curvse kill the flow rate the y artn so bad but 1 90* kill 60% of your flow just one and the second does not bring it back!!

I would run one 600watt or 400watt w/ a 6 inch Cooltube hooked to a 200-250 CFM 6 inch FAN and you will have better light penetration and the cooltube is so cool you can keep it close to your plants for max lumens. Cooltube cost about 120$ at most and comes with adjustable wing reflectors aswell.

I run 2 600w in cooltubes and there cool to the touch mostly except closest to the bulb where I can still touch it np just barely warm. I run two 600watt hps on cooltubes hooked to a 420 cfm fan and they stay plenty cool. Anything more than 1 400 is really prolly over kill to be honest. I like the 2 250's Idea just not really cost efficient but would be very light efficient and make out that tents lighting capabilities.

Remember a 1000w cover 5x5 a 600w cover a 4x4 and a 400 cover a 3x3 that why a 400 or two 250's would be optimal anything more would be over kill.

Best of Luck

This page about a few inches down .. it looks like a time line.. gonna look again myself and make sure im not confused.

Those are the fans i have i have two of them working in tandum.... That would be enough to pull it through eh? two hoods? Square hoods we are talking
those are the newer releases of the 315 watters ...the spectrum isn't correct on those....but the one they sell 250-400 watt retro white mastercolor is the best spectrum hid available
