Need advice

Okay here's my situation. I can describe more about how I ended up here if you want, but it's not really relevant to my question. So I have 4 feminized northern lights plants that are 5 weeks old and 2 grow 'spaces'. I started out with one grow space for the 4, but realized they'd probably kill each other off soon because it is about 2'x2' and didn't have the heart to kill any of them.
So currently I have grow space number 1: plywood box painted flat white, 2x2x4 with air intake and exhaust using CFLs. 2 plants with 4 55W CFLs and 2 42W. All 'daylight.'
This space is 'indoor/outdoor' such that it does not get natural light but it is pretty subject to the outdoor climate.
Grow space number 2: 2'3"x2'3"x5'3" inside. Using a 400W LED, with perfect climate control.

My original plan, and probably what I'll do in seasons other than winter, was to use the cfl spot for vegging and then flower under the more powerful LED.

SO, I got the LED/tent/etc just recently. And since I already had 4 going I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I decided to bring 2 to the tent and start the flower pretty soon. Then I'd veg and keep training the other 2 until these were done flowering, and get a much better yield on the second 2, plus I'd have one round of flowering under my belt. Now I'm worried that the temps in veg room will be too low by the time it's time there is space open in the flower tent, even if I do lights on at night when temps are lowest. So I feel like in a way I'm going to end up with fuck-all by flowering the first 2 too early just to create space and when they are done producing their 3g a piece, my 2 giants will be dead. :wall:

Advice on how to proceed?

Do you have the option of making the indoor space larger or adding a second indoor space? If so, go that route.

If not, a space heater with thermostat can take care of maintaining your minimum temp.

I can't do much to the indoor space. I've thought about a space heater, I'm just worried about power consumption. Seems like it would equal most of the rest of the grow. Is that an overestimate?

That depends a lot on:
How cold it gets.
How well insulated the box is.
How much air you exchange.
Where you intake air from.

Yeah, I guess I don't really know what the temp will be in there. The room it is in is relatively well insulated and only like 6x6. The air intake is from directly outside, but that was because it held so much heat in the summer, maybe it'll do the same in the winter!
Intake fan is 100cfm and about 3ft of ducting, relatively straight.
Exhaust is sort of a fan I converted, not sure what it puts out. But it goes up and down, so the 'grow room' is actually only 2x2x2 right now. As the grow and I raise the lights it'll get taller.

Slowly move your light cycle so the lights will be on at coldest time. Heating pad or 1 or 2 incandesants should keep them alive.

turn your fans off at night when its cold, if they're sitting on cement get them on some 2x4s or something to keep them off the cold floor, and do what A.K.A. said, you ought to be fine for as long as it takes

I would keep a space heater set at like 40f as emergency backup if you think it's possible to have them freeze where you live.

you got a space heater with a 40F setting on it?
No, I don't, but I haven't attempted to do this myself. I've never grown outdoors when temps were freezing.

This one cane do it: Lasko 755320 (39f to 90f is the range of settings)

I could also probably do it with my analog space heater, I've used it before to keep minimum temps in a basement corner above 50 or so.

I also could use a digital temp controller I have in combo with the analog space heater to do the same thing.
