because T5's put more lumens per sq ft, but cost alot more. T12 = old and inefficient,
T8 = higher efficiency and T5 = highest efficiency. T8's are a compromise between efficiency and cost. if on a budget, i'd go T8

what about just buying like 6 more 24 watt cfls and call it a day? Then getting the t5s in a few more weeks when my babys are ready to start flowering?

with T8, as a bonus the bulbs don't really get too hot. with T5's they do, i know because i own both kinds and the T5 bulb is way hotter. u can basically ley the leaves touch a T8 bulb (increasing yield) as long as the room has some air movement, not really possible with my T5

if you're on a budget and just learning, a cfl grow can be a valuable learning experience. when you can read plants, step up your game and go hid. not everyone will grow more than once, and a shot at it spending very little will be a better approach then buying a 1000 watter and everything that goes with it (fans, duct, etc) and boxing it up after one grow and wishing you spent less

do a search of cfl grows before you make up your own mind [ site:rollitup.org cfl grows ] to whether or not they're not good to grow AND flower with. people can do big with very little

One cree 15w 1600lumens a19(screw-in e26 socket) costs $25 bucks.....I could get 10 23w 1600l cfl bulbs for the same price!:)....for me,its a no brainer.....led's are still too expensive for my cheap ass!If I showed you the plant I have under 12 cfls you wouldn't believe it!:eyesmoke:
I was about to call you in here bro! CFLs aren't for me... You do good things with 'em, but not everyone can!

well after reading around I am going to do my first 2 or 3 grows with cfls. Might add a t5 in during flowering but that's it I went and bought 2 55 watts to add in the loop so that is now 2 55 watt and 3 24 watts should that be good for the remainder of my veg stage?? If not how many more should I get. Thanks for all the help guys I honestly appreciate it. I just can't wait for harvest time. And if any of you have any tips for cloning that would be great! Thanks for all the help guys
