Hello everyone,
First off, I did post this same thread in the newbie section, didnt really see the best spot for my post except in the advanced and newb section, all appologies if this is overkill.

I am a medical patient here in Los Angeles and looking to meet like minded people interested in having a full time apprentice, or part time worst case scenario. I always keep it legal(plant count and processed), have a small 4x4ft flower tent and a 2x3ft veg tent that I have been learning with over the last year, teaching myself as many of you are doing or have done. I know this is not the ideal way to go about finding an herbal mentor, but hey, i gotta try, right? I`m extremely interested in the future of this industry. any help would be appreciated.

i havent posted any journals or pics but i do have plenty of pics from my first flower involving, Lst, hst scrog, lolipopping in soil, fimming and topping included :)

Thanks for dropping by to read or comment.

thanks brotha, yeah, ive lurked on this site before over the last year. ive definitely put the time in and learned quite a bit. i honestly want to learn from a master grower if possible or someone with way more experience. dont get me wrong, i know i can do it on my own, more or less looking toward the future :) here are a couple choice shots of my first grow from feb, vegged them a while trying to learn and correct any issue that came up. went from CFL to HID, now only use cfl in small veg tent.iphone dump 008.JPG IMG_2002.JPG
even nute burned them on purpose to see how it would react and if i could bring them back, it has been a fun journey for me so far. i did save them, lol. i know, sounds a little nutty to say i burned em on purpose, but i want to know what i am dealing with on a full scale. iphone dump 011.JPG
topping, Lst etc etc.iphone dump 016.JPG

yes broken branches occurred, pruning lollipopping during flowering happend, yes i learned a lot, never again. lol. IMG_2152.JPG iphone dump 054.JPG IMG_2115.JPG IMG_2117.JPG IMG_2118.JPG IMG_2142.JPG

im rocking 5 in flower maui wowie, 2 x ak-47, jack herer, and game changer, as of just under a week ago, 4 different strains, my second real grow. i have a couple of good well known books and have researched via interwebs till my head has turned blue, sifting thru the endless info that is mostly questionable. anyways these are all from my first serious grow.

this second grow, i will be aiming more for high yields based on my learning experiences thus far. i flowered with smaller plants and less veg, and will continue to shorten veg times, eventually dabble in coco, then dwc when i can keep rez temps at a minimum. its been an adventure running this set up in a 2nd story apt. anyways, they say smoking it is not addictive, but growing it is :)

ak-47 top.JPGak-47 close up.jpeg gamechanger tops.jpeg gamechanger split repair.jpeg maui n jack blurred a little.jpeg jack herer.jpeg

here are a few quick shots, gotta take care of some things. will have to take full shots of plants later when i have more time to shoot them individually. so i will never in my life drink beer and handle things in my garden, yes game changer that is bandaged, right as the kings won the cup, i split her down the center. she seems to have shown no signs of stress, stretching still four days later and bud sites still increasing, day 12. i was away for a couple days and they got a little dry, and i believe that is one of the reasons im getting a little burn on the jack and maui, soil drying out and the uptake of nutes is higher with lower amounts of water to dilute. they are all really starting to drink like crazy. my temps are 85 low and 95 high. thinking about getting a CO2 bag, just dont have the CO2 to monitor. any advice in this area would be helpful. they all seem to handle the higher temps fairly well, 2nd floor apt, so it is tough on noise, heat. using 240 cubic fan to vent. temps are fine in the winter.

any advice always appreciated.
kmog, i sent a conversation your way a couple days ago, it was quite a rant, but questions that are on the brain, only real two that i am wondering about is CO2 bags w no meter and anything else i can do to help the game changer split stalk heal better/faster (fairly certain theres not much i can do, but then again thats why im here, to learn from experienced like minded people)

thanks so much.

yeah, thats been just one issue ive been trying to figure out. i have my 12 of darkness from 6 am to 6pm which i may adjust to 8am to 8pm darkness to take more advantage of cooler air. my apartment really isnt sealed well in any of the windows so when they are closed its like an oven, i keep all windows open all the time vent to the outside. when im home keep my sliding door open as well. it is a little frustrating, i know that 85 growth slows, 95 im surprised to see any stretching at all. i have a good fan that moves air around the tent. i am really at a loss for what i can do, an ac unit is out of the question at this point (unless i can find a non vibrating/ small enough unit), so if i have to suffer a little until i get in another place where i can keep it cooler. the girlfriend already said i could build a shed in our future back yard, lol, yes ill be building it out w ac and the works. lol pipe dreams. im in it for life :)

good food down in the tustin / santa ana area :) my gf and i make our way down there several times a month.

just threw a 20 inch box fan in the window to help with air flow and going to pull the carbon air filter off, 4 inch on a six inch 240 cu ft fan. air flow in room is better but will still be subjected to outside temps.
