i posted in aeroponics but it doesnt wanna pop up so ill try here..

me and my partner have a small debate going on with my plans that i have..
i purchased an aeroponic system not too long ago and wanna put it to use.
i see no problem in setting my soil cups in my system. i mean only the roots will be exposed at the bottom of my net pots getting sprayed.
the plants gonna sit on hydrotron then topped with more rock. i dont see why it shouldn't work.
what do you guys think..

heres the system

heres my plant in soil cups

heres my plant in the system

what i wanna do is fill the net pot half way with rock then either sit the plant down with cup or no cup on top then fill in the rest.
i dont see why it wouldnt work..

i mean the only thing exposed to the water will be the roots. once they pop thru the net pot the roots will be hanging and getting sprayed.
i honestly dont see why not i just want a good second opinion. if not trial and error will be the test

It's not a good idea. The water will wash the dirt into your system no matter how well you think you covered it. And it dosnt take much to clog the sprayers. And with aero it dosnt take long for a plant to die if there is no water. I would veg what you have till you can fill the system with clones in RW. Then ether let the soil plants recover a week and start flower. Or let them veg from there and use them as a mom.

Dirt plust Hydro = issues. The roots will be sprayed but if you attempt to water the base of the plant, which you have to, the dirt will get into the system. Cause issues, mold, attract knats etc. I am not a fan or rockwall at all, attracts gnats, If they were mine I would get rid of the dirt, cleanse the roots well and put in a small black seed starter and in the clay. Than let the hydro do its job.
