NEED car help

so i was changing my spark plugs today and noticed 2 out of the 6 were covered in oil. I've been doing some research and have come up with a few possible answers
1. valves not sealing properly
2. worn piston rings
3. head gasket needs replacement
4. valve cover gasket needs replacement
5. simply overfilling oil

I'm not sure which one of these is happening with my car but i suspect its the valve cover because my car has had a small oil leak since i bought it. Any help is appreciated

I'd start with a new set of plugs. Does the car use oil, smoke, misfire, lose power, or anything out of the ordinary? If the plugs have never been changed in 71,000 miles, it could be time.

i give the car it's regular maintenance (tune ups, oil changes, etc...) come to thing of it about a 2 weeks ago i did notice the engine started to stumble if that makes sense, like the idle speed was a bit erratic

valve cover gasket? is the oil on the outside of the spark plug or is the business end oil fouled? If the plug is fouled by oil slipping past the rings just use a thicker oil and possibly an additive.

1 had oil just on the outside and the other had oil on inside end. and i just took it for a test drive and the check engine just came on. gettin kinda worried i'm strapped for cash right now and don't think i could afford major repairs

100% valve cover gasket if the oil is in the spark plug hole the hole where you would take them (spark plugs) out of then its 100% valve cover gasket don't matter what kind of car it is

The car stumbling is the spark plug "fouling" or getting oil on it...this gets there if oil gets by the rings. This can be from worn rings, a broken ring or the oil grooves are lined up...I am not a mechanic...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...
