Need critiquing on my light placement

Howdy y’all, first time posting on here. I’d like to hear anyone and everyone’s thoughts on what i’ve got going on. So, basically i’ve got 6 x 315w LEC’s over roughly 140ft^2. I’d like thoughts on my crossover and spillage of light. Looking forward to seeing what y’all got to say. Thanks!

Lights look great - footprint seems to fully extend to corners.

I would at least paint the walls white. Other than that looks good - temps manageable ?

Looks pretty good but I'd get something reflective or paint the walls with flat white paint.

Panda film is relatively cheap and you can cut the 10' width in half and just run a 5' strip around the walls if paint isn't an option. Lots of other shiny type reflective materials available too for more money but really won't be much better than panda.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I just finished the major construction on this room, and either Mylar or white tarping is definitely on my list. I’m in the throws of dialing in my temperature fluctuations. It gets to a high of 24’c(75.2’f) and has dropped to 13.6’c(56.48’f). It only dropped that low once (last night), when I forgot to set my radiator for the night. Definitely trying to keep the fluctuation to a swing of 10’.

Have you got a temp/RH controller? If not get one to keep teh climate dialed in. An a baseboard thermostat for the heater. I just wire one into a wall box with cords out each end for a heater in my room or it would be 45F in there in the mornings.

Can buy a ceiling fan controller to dial down an inline exhaust fan too.

I see, right on. Not yet, I will definitely be investing in that, humidity is my weakest point right now. All i have for rh control is a baby humidifier and a tub of water. Did you build that little box? I feel i should mention my heater is one of those electric oil radiators, ya know? It has a thermostat on it, i can just not figure it out. Like, i’ll set the damn thing and see where it trips off on the thermostat for a reference. Then i’ll check on it at night and be like “ WHY ARE YOU NOT ON?!”, and then again in the morning, “WHY ARE YOU ON?!”.

After years of keeping and breeding snakes humidity and room temps can be a tough nut to crack. If you get a thermostat and hook that heater to it I promise it will work wonders. Ranco makes a pretty reliable one for around 80 bucks and it's not hard wired into the wall. If you want to spread the heat out, putting a fan behind the heater will help disperse that heat a little quicker.

That sounds good, i’ll check it out. I definitely would love something i can just plug in and forget with light monitoring. Thanks Rp!

Old med has the hook up though. His set up looks amazing, I am in no way trying to take away from his set up. My way is just a little more portable.

He really does, that’s why i was wondering if he built his box. I don't mind having to mount anything, or even building anything really, so long as it is cost/time effective. I would honestly love to have a little box like that, digital stuff is so finicky at times, i like to be able to fix my shit, ya know?

I didn't build that box but have bought the parts to build one like it. Using a metal Makita box that held a drill or something. The humidity thermostat and heating/cooling thermostat are just mounted on the outside and I have a dremel tool to cut the holes for the duplex plug. It'll be a rougher cut but I'll put a face-plate over it and it will look fine. All that stuff can be bought at any large hardware store or building supply but probably cheaper and less hassle buying one that has a day and night settings tho I don't see the need for both.



A coil type heater with a built in fan is better than the oil filled ones. Much quicker response time as the oil has to heat up for a while. A fan that blows thru the fins of the oil heater would help if that's all you have. I bought a 500W baseboard heater that I have to wire up with a thermostat. Didn't know it was 220V but have a 220 wire in to hook it up now.

Get your environment dialed in and that's half the battle won.
