Need Electrical help on a ballast MH-HPS conversion

I have taken it apart to find the Ignitor but no luck.. So I've taken some pictures for the experienced, and would really like some feed back, I have two of these Ballast set up, and my garden is waiting for me. My goal here is to take it from a MH lamp (current state) to a HPS. They are universal ballasts. Assistance please? Anyone? :bigjoint:

ah highbays... i use those ballasts myself.
yes, you can really use 0-450w lamps.
switching form mh to hps? lol.. no switch required, just change the lamp ;)

That's just it my friend. I have tried that... Someone on one of my other threads told me that it should have a switch on it somewhere? That's the way to go from one type of light to the other.. Any other Ideas?

Okay, I've tried using my 400w HPS, 150HPS, and my two 70MH and nothing worked.. It wouldn't turn on at all.. It buzzed and that's about it. but It works for my 400w MH.. So what's the dealeO?

i thought ballast must have write bulbs ie 250 watt ballast will not runn a 600w bulb as its current is less because of the resistance in the ballast?????

Well according to my ballast it can run 0-450w and a 1000w Metal Halide, and HP Sodium. I just need to figure out how to disconnect the igniter. First off, I need to find out what the igniter looks like.. They don't look the same as any other igniter I've seen before.. That's where I'm having my issues.

this thing has been eating my head too...actually i was thinking on the economical side. i want to buy a ballast that this vendor says is a metal halide ballast and then later on in my flowering stage i plan to use the same ballast for the hps light..i just dont know if it will work.

Well is yours universal? Most aren't, but the baylight I have says it can run both type of lights. But we both have the same Idea on the ballast man, I planned on doing the exact same thing. Until we figure out how to do this, they are useless fixtures. That's why I really want to get this done!! :cuss:

Anyways... Good luck on fixing your problem as well. Who knows, maybe you could figure out how to, by sticking around this thread. :bigjoint:

heyyyyy man any luck with this one? i have a similar ballast...(warehouse style) and it also says it supports HPS but i just tried to switch the other day and it wont turn on at all....but i plug my MH in and it works again....i dont know anything about these ballasts so im not sure what to do at all....but the only thing i can think of is we have to do something special to make them work with HPS....

the wires to the emergency light on mine were cut...are yours like this too or are they connected still?....idk if this could somehow be linked or not but thats the only thing thats changed as far as operating from how they come...

just wondering have you solve your problem on this ballast thing?? i know that you can convert from hps to mh by just disconnecting the igniter, maybe to convert mh we need an igniter?.... mmm

i just saw the same ballast in home depot here in baja, i cannot afford 2 ballast so i want to convert.

so i dont know if its worth to buy it if i can just use it with MH

well, i hope someone responds to this
