Well the concept is pretty simple. I built mine like this:
-2 -18 Liter Buckets, Preferably Black (Where are you going to put the lid and root system during an h20 swap if you only have 1 bucket?)
- Net Pot Lid - Grow Store
- A small pump (I used a 23.00, 47 Gallon/hour pump) You may need to look around for this.
- A small air pump - 12.00 at a petstore; 50 gallons per hour - in hindsight i should have got the 100 gallon/hour for only a couple bucks more
- Tubing to go with each pump; my h20 pump uses 3/8 and my O2 pump uses 5mm
- Air Stone to distribute air; 2.00 at a petstore
- A good 2 or 3 part nutrients line
- PH Up and Down
- PH Meter and a PPM ASAP; i currently do not have a PPM but the PH monitor is absolutely essential
- I built an optional tube to measure the water level - used pvc elbow, 1/2 vinyl tubing, silicone and hose clamp.
- Hydroton
- Rockwool Cubes
- RO Water
Like really its pretty simple; just youtube DWC. Really it pretty simple. The most expensive part is definitely the nutrients; you can't skip this. Im just getting into it as well but you have to do some reading for yourself; hydroponics has been around since the 1600's in one way or another. Im sure you could find a book.
