hey guys so as youve guessed by now im a newb, im fed up of paying 50 euro for 2.9 grams of shitty weed, ive started to stock up on growing plans. I am soley set on CFL nothing else, i want to grow 4 plants, Prefferabley northern lights. Would 4 75 watt 330 watt equivilant CFL'S cut it for 4 plants? i have 4 75 watt 6400k and 4 75 watt 2700k for flowering. Would this be enough for my grow? i have them in a warddrobe painted flat white with a computer exaughst fan and an intake? Thanks guys

U should b fine but remember watts on cfls are not equivalent to par light for plants its lumens to the human eye so a 75 watt cfl is not gonna get u a huge yeild. i would expect less than a half ounce per plant with a decent amount of veg.

So what lights would you reccomend for the grow? 4-plants in a 3x6ft wardrobe and to get a good yeild? without going overboard on price and no hps whatsoever just cfl. i have the eletrical side of things covered thanks for the reply

I think you may need to up your watts for that many plants or maybe just take it to 2 or 3 plants. Only 75 watts per plant seems to be pretty bare minimum and yield will likely suffer. Especially for flowering, not so much for veg. I'd recommend taking it 3 plants and maybe doing some light LST (low stress training) or some scrog (screen of green) to maximize you yield per watt. Or maybe grabbing some big 125 watt CFLs to put over top the canopy and use your 75 watts to out around your plant cover the sides. Just some ideas for ya. Good luck!

My total wattage would be 300 actually watts, What if i was to get one 200w Cfl and 2 75W cfls? the 200w rocks 20,000 lumens which is pretty good, can you maybey tell me exactly what i would need please as i dont want to fuck shit up the first try haha :p thanks a lot for the replies really apprecciated and ill keep you all up to date with the grow when it commences! thanks again!

That's not a bad idea but, I don't think one 200 w can cover the tops of 4 plants. If you could afford 2 if those that would be good, if not I'd suggest 2 bulbs 125 w that way you could cover 4 plants. Then I'd say a couple of 75 w in the mix would be a great start.

Just from what I've read you'd want at least 20,000 lumen, and then you'd need to consider coverage area. Florescent tubes work well and don't cost too much, I had a complete setup running 6 4ft t8's which put out about 25,000 lumens and covered a fairly large area, all for about $80 from lowes. The issue I see with cfl's is they're more compact so you don't get as much coverage as with other lights. Just in my personal opinion I would run 2 of the 200 watts over head and then the 75 watts around the plants just to make sure all 4 get a good amount of light so you'll get a better yield

thanks for the fast replies guys, i think i might go with 8 35w 6400k grow lights and when flowering time comes switch to 8 35w 2700k bulbs all fitted inside a grow light structure, what you guys think?

im ok with scent controll as im being allowed to grow this inside a wardrobe within my house. I think im going to use 4 35w cfls for vegging then switch up to a 250w hps with a reflector, what do you think? im probably gonna go with that idea. Would that be sufficient to grow 3 northern lights plants? Thanks a million for the reply means alot to a newb :)

I feel you need about 100 watts per plant, I ki d of thought that was like the standard lol I have a nuddy who just vegged 3 really nice ladies under probably 400 watts. They looked pretty healthy, just take some sockets that are chorded (from those hood lamp things you see in the garage) and fic a few of them to a piece of wood really simple and buy some of those y adapter sockets 3 of them together eill make a fixter carry 4 bulbs one fixture over each plant. Worked great for him! Good luck!
