Need help and input on my first cabinet grow!!!

Hello Everyone , Ive been away for awhile but now im back and ready to get growing again. My last grow went pretty succesful even tho i never finished my journal ill post pics of finished plant if people want to see. but to just cut to the chase----- I just got a new large cabinet for cheap and i want ;to turn it into a new grow cabinet but from going to what i had to this, i dont know where to start besides just lining inside with reflectors. Please help im a noob when it come to making a box this size.

Please just post if your willing to help i dont need people telling me its easy and im a noob its something i already know lol

Cabinet dementions--- H=4ft W=3ft D=about 2ft

ok so i had more pics but some dumbass turned the internet off as i finished the post and now i got to start over from here and cant upload photots, BUT.......this bow worked grreat!!! i was thinking of using my first box as a veg box and the big cabinet as a floweing box. because i want to use half of my big cabinet for 12/12 plants and the other half for one big plant so how does that sound?


Any help would be good, thanks and happy growing!!!!!

your best bet for that size is CFLS or LEDS A HID is gonna need 20 inches clearance from your plants, then the actual size of the lights, then your pots and you are left with hardly any space to actually grow in. You can go 1 or 2 plants Scrog style, or theres the option of runnin 12/12 from seed. There is a great 500 page topic on here for that. If you still have your other cab you also have the option to run both, one for veg/clones and the other for flower. gives you a steady supply of bud.

thank you yes i was thinking the same.

i might veg one plant in my old cab and start some 12/12 from seed plants in the larger one and when my one plant is two big for my old cab i will put it in my new cab. i want to split i down the middle and have like 4-8 12/12 plants on one side and my one big plant on the other, do you think that would work?

do you know of any good scrogging videos/forums?

You could use a 250 or 150 watt hps in that cab. I used a 250 watt hps in my cab that only had dimensions of: H=4ft W=2ft D=2ft. Look up sr. verde's grow. The link for his current one is https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/485817-2x2x5-grow-lab-reserva-privada.html . Check out some of his older ones too, he's been using a 250 watt hps. As for height issues, your best bet would be to go with a scrog method or some serious lst. If you go with a hps you will need to be able to cool it. My first grow with the 250, i had a 4 inch 171 cfm inline pulling through a carbon filter and it kept my temps under control. I don't know what your budget is like, but I would recommend going with either a 250 or 150 watt hps, 4 inch inline fan, a carbon filter, and some scrog and you should be good.

I've got a cabinet build on here I never used it though moved to a new place...you could try induction like i was going to do with mine...300w 2700k induction lamp.

ok see that how i know im a noob when it comes to bigger grows cause im used to making boxes with just a few cfls and some intake and outtake exhust computer fans. i do my research but i still dont understand those types of lights and carbon filters and shit......

Can anyone give me like a quick tutorial on this shit lol

Im trying to use the most space posibly for my plants and im trying to get them to grow to the top and i cant really do any lights that hang low and need alot of wiring.

Im not looking to make a cheap box but a simple box to be stealth and to grow a good enough yeild and a steady supply for myself for now on
