I think the set up is good, I'd consider adding some side light to it though at a later date, cfls don't have very good penetration but will def get the job done! Assuming your cabinet isn't sealed up tight, I'd say a pc fan will be fine for now, but if it's sealed up you'll need some sort of intake, i'd say even a passive one would be fine

MG soil works fine to grow in, you might get a little yellowing in the very small seedlings if you over water. The people who have issues with MG soil are experienced growers who are trying to get better then average results and are willing to drop some money to do, i normally grow in a DWC but have played with soil from time to time. i'm using FFOC soil atm and will say it is giving me the best results so far with much quicker growth then "dirt", from outside, but i still mix dirt with it dew to the $34 a bag price tag on it. I can't tell a big difference in MG and FFOC my self but then again i'm not an "experienced soil grower", i'm getting ok with the DWC after 7 or 8 cycles but but still fuck up regularly.

anyways i wouldn't stress over MG soil. Not to get you down but those plants look about 5 days old. IMO more drainage and less watering will help a lot i think. small plants use very little water and in 1 gal pots rarely need watering until they are 5 or 6 inches tall. Now typically they are 5 or 6 inches in 6-8 days so your situation is a little special.

I wouldn't toss them just yet but if you have more seeds i would go ahead and start some new plants.

16oz solo cups are a great starting pot for seedlings and normally take the guess work out of the first few weeks. poke 5+ holes in the bottom of each cup with a thumbtack or something similar. If you have some gravel or small stones you place them in the bottom of the cup to further assist in drainage, but they are unnecessary at this point as you will be transplanting in only a few days. fill each cup with soil level with the top of the cup, tap the cup and gently compress the soil down to about 1 inch below the lip. Slowly fill each up with water until it begins to drip from the bottom set the cups all in a location to drain for 12 to 24 hours (not sunny or directly in front of a fan) This will allow the water to permeate the soil and condition it to be ready to grow in while allowing excess to drain out prior to introducing the seeds. After your seeds have sprouted in your damp paper towel use a pen or pencil to make a 1/4 to 1/2 inch hole in the center of the soil and drop your sprouted seed in, be careful not to damage the root during this as it will totally fuck the plant if it even survives. Place the cups under a light, about 6 to 8 inches from a couple 27 watt CFLs works great, and place a small fan blowing over the tops of the cups, a "small" fan. A large fan will dry out your soil too fast and possibly topple your seedlings but without a fan the grow very spindly and often develop growth inhibiting conditions in early life. and that's it, day one and 2 you should see the small sprouts pushing up thru the soil and spreading there leaves, by day 4 and 5 real leaves will be appearing and on day 7 they should look similar to the plants you have now. by day 6 or 7 they may be needing some water. they should be large enough now that you can give a good full watering with pure water, slowly pour the water in at the rate it can be absorbed, don;t let it puddle, until it comes out the bottom. By day 14 they should be ready to be transplanted and moved to your grow light, a 200 to 400 watt MH is ideal but whatever you are flowering with will work fine. I would used at least a 3 gallon pot as my final home to flower in as much smaller will not hold enough moisture for a healthy plant at peak growth to thrive for 24 hours in between watering. (they drink a shit ton on week 2-4 of flowering)

anyways take it for what its worth but i hope it helps =)

Well I'd say no nutes yet, but if they're that old the MG soild might be out of its original charge, so if you wanna try some, start at like 1/8 or 1/4 dosage
