QUOTE=Purpsdro420;9807488]In my honest opinion, a 150 watt may be all you need right now but in the future that may change. I know it did for me and a lot of ppl. I would go with this digital dimmable 400 watt if budget will allow. You could use it at half power because it's dimmable. So it would be 200 watts and if and when you decide you want more you can just flip a switch and you good to go. Also this lot comes with everything you need. Both bulbs, a cooltube ( which you could air cool for better temp control), the ballast( which is a better ballast and it's not connected to the hood, and runs both bulbs) , a timer, and a pair of ratchet hangers. Here's the link for it. I have like 7 kits from them and they have been going strong for over 2 years. I only have 1 400 watt but it's been going on 24/0 for over a year. Still runs just like the day I bought it

check it out. I think it would be a better fit than the other for pretty much everyone.[/QUOTE]

Actually i have that one too but i would reconsider because that lamp is shitty would consider a better lamp, mine blew out and i actually got a better one. Also if u wanna expand in the future i would go for a dimmable balast like lumatek so u have the choice of watts u can have all 3 in one ballast 400,600,1000 and its hps or mhl.

Actually thats the same one i used in my grow locker its a very good product if ur going small its a durable piece and its bareley hot i could use it and the highest temps is 78º ive grown some serious buds with that guy there! U could easily grow 2-3 oz belive me ive done it! Read all the reviews on amazon i highly recomend it!

Its good. But id rather spend another 40$ and have 4-6 plants goin!

I just picked up the 400 watt ballast with the cooltube and its great so far. Real easy to keep cool with an oscillating fan.

I bought the VMInnovations unit for $60, but like Scottie on the Enterprise, your're simply gonna want more power Captain...I ended up letting someone else use it (and did CFL's)...still for a main light I'd take the 150W over the CFLS (provided if its in a cool spot like a basement) otherwise to parrot the other posters: try the CFL's or go st8 to the dimmable 400S

Deffinatly a minimum. And when you get good a 400 watt can produce as much as a pound of quality smoke
