If you're daisy chaining powerful lights, is your timer not getting overloaded with watts?
In the U.K. most growers use HORTICULTURAL LIGHTING CONTACTORS which utilise relays etc within them.

im a single light user and use a contactor relay rated for 2kw

You shouldn’t be running 1300w on a single outlet. Gonna end up burning the house down. Be careful.
Also if that plug is the only plug used on that circuit, 1300w is fine. But you’re right, most growers aren’t smart enough to calculate the load on their plugs.

Why the laugh? Would you run 1300w off a 15amp ungrounded outlet with knob and tube electric? I run my shit off the 30amp dryer plug. 56F20E5F-ABB9-448B-A922-448DF1A3D90D.jpeg944774F4-7137-4005-B37A-111C9DF6263E.jpeg

I’m pretty nervous running 1000w lights on a single 15a, I have each light going on it’s own 15a circuit And I still worry. All that juice going through a timer…

All of my wiring is 12 gauge 20 amp dedicated circuits. The timers were the weak link.
These are what we use in the U.K.

Contactor relay

in the U.K. you have 1plug straight into 1mains socket Then your timer with the other plug on the contactor relay plugged into the timer.

it eliminates the stress load on the timer so you can use a standard household timer.

or you can buy one of these for a single light setup
Single light

I use Sonoff Basic wifi switches. They are good for 10 amps, which is 2400w @ 240v. If you need more than that you can link them over wifi so they operate as one. I am so done with household timers, down the years I have had so many fail and the mechanical ones are so inaccurate. In 2 years I have had a Sonoff switch fail to switch on once, but I got a notification saying the on routine had failed to run so I could still switch it on manually at the switch or remotely via the app.

A screw in fuse box? Dude. Call an electrician. Move on up to the 20th century here in the 21st.

Been there and done that including the old penny behind the blown fuse because it was your last one and you're 50 miles from the nearest town.

I’m glad one hasn’t blown on me yet. No clue where to get replacements. I’m not about to drop a few grand into upgrading a property I don’t own though.
