Projection as it pertains to psychology, have a nice read. Then go back to my previous post and follow that advice. And you should see a doctor. They might be able to help that little sociopathic problem you have.
44" Seems to me to be the perfect length - leaves two inches at each end for the frame. $99 for 16 feet is pretty competitive compared to Samsung strips, which are $27 each for the 44".nfhiggs - 44" is a frustrating length for a 48"x96" fixture. Waveform lighting was helpful, but $99/16 ft strip is a steep price point when I need 12-24 strips per unit. That sale price actually beats most of their wholesale cost breaks, 10+ reels = $107.10, 30+ reels = $101 ..
you could almost get away with running a strip of quantum boards between 44" strips but that would equal 97 inches because the qb boards are 9" wide one way. Thanks to everyone for the input. Any recommended suppliers on 90 CRI rather than 97 CRI? Or 60 LED vs 120 LED density? I'd rather run strips every inch with lower density, than every two or four inches.

Purplebuz - Attempted to contact Yuji calling a disconnected phone # and sending an email that came back undeliverable.
dabby duck - I'll take your recommendation on the flat bar if I choose strips.
Not sure where your at with this project or the physics of it would even work but have your thought about using something like a thick piece of acrylic with High CRI small cobs or strips around the perimeter pointing in to the edge to make diffused even light?I'm on a journey. One that was started last month when a drunken engineer told me my dream of producing my own pivoting light table/fixture is attainable (disregarding my own lack of knowledge on basic principles of electricity)
None the less, I've caught the bug.
The goal is to create a 4'x8' bright, dimmable, quiet and evenly illuminated surface for studio photography and video production. Attached is a technical drawing for a prototype of the frame using parts that I can ship to my door. To attain even illumination behind diffused white plexiglass, I will need a tight array of LEDs and possibly two layers of diffusion. As this will be used in a professional environment, it's most important that it functions reliably and behaves when I need it to.
In the following weeks, I will attempt to ingest as much knowledge on LED boards, strips, drivers, heat sinks, potentiometers, aluminum channels, etc. as possible and I realize this forum is a gold mine. If anyone would like to offer guidance towards recommended builds or know of related threads that could be an extremely helpful starting point. Thank you in advance!
Nice project, but it seams like you haven't really thought about color quality which is VERY important for your case! The goal is to create a 4'x8' bright, dimmable, quiet and evenly illuminated surface for studio photography and video production.
that's too bad i guess they aren't doing so wellPurplebuz - Attempted to contact Yuji calling a disconnected phone # and sending an email that came back undeliverable.
https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/filmgrade-led-strip-lights-for-film-photography@AwkwardSeating - hi, lurker here...can you point me to the waveform product you refer to that's $99 per LED reel? I'm also looking into making a similar panel light with high CRI. I tried a similar project before and had some trouble with voltage drop. I'm hoping these "premium" versions have enough copper in them to withstand the high current levels.
For growing I am using Samsung F strips. Thanks! Looks like they have the right CRI and CCT...they even have 99 CRI, but I'm not sure if that's really necessary...lol. What LED strips did you end up purchasing?
