Need help selecting a strain. Scrog

So I guess I will start will a little detail.

Wanting to start a grow in a 4x2 tent with a 400mh/hps. With a screen I built. Also I will be using a 7 gallon smart pot with coco and a drip system.

I posted this in the newbie section because I'm new here but I do have experience growing. Last time I enjoyed the results I achieved but used a recirculating ebb and flow an did not have a way to control water temps then, so I ran into root rot problems near the end.

I think I have all the angle fianlly worked out for this grow the only thing left to do is select a strain.

I am looking for something that will respond well to Scrog training, give a nice heavy yeild and still finish in 8-9 weeks.

For selection I am able to order oaksterdam clones from a dispensary:

Dj short blueberry
La confidential
King kush
Bubba kush
Purple kush
Master kush
Skywalker OG
Hollywood bubba kush
Blue dream
Catatonic
Kryptonite

I'm not sure if I can order others from oaksterdams list but I probably can. So it may not be limited to just that list. I was thinking what I want is something like blue dream but I'm not sure how it yields in scrog.



PS I have no experience with oaksterdam. If they are not who I should use please let me know and recommend somewhere else.

I am against clones unless the source is extremely trusted.

Look up spider mites and root aphids. A lot of them start with a clone from another grower/dispensary

save yourself the heartache and 100's of $ in sprays.

start from seed. Trust me on this one.

i can give some strain recommendations that will totally satisfy even the pickiest of pot snobs.

it don't take long to get em and pop em. Saves so many headaches in the long run. Even to know what you have is exactly that strain and the choice pheno.

oaksterdam might have great servile clones. Idk. Not worth it at all in my book. It's the number one mistake I see new growers make.

I understand mites can be an issue but I always follow strict quarantine rules when bringing in a new clone. I've done it 4 times now from different dispensaries. All you have to do is dip them and spray them for a week or two before bringing into the main grow area.

The reason I would prefer a clone is:

1. I don't have time to deal with males and I have zero experience with feminized seeds so I am not sure if those are at 100% female ratio yet or not

2. I can get one clone for about 10$ I don't know of any place I can get really good seeds this cheap. If you do please enlighten me

UPDATE:

So great news! I found a dispensary that stocks Mr. Nice seeds at 8$ a seed. Almost all of the ones attitude seed bank has listed.

The only problem is that they are regular seeds so it would involve some extra time.

So my question now would be. What Mr.Nice strain would you recommend !

No seed is guaranteed to be 100% hermie free or actually good..

same goes for a clone. There is so much that can go wrong with a clone to me it out ways the extra money if any.

i have found some tend to be more stable. Certain breeders tend to carry better gear. stable strains..

I have personally grown shark shock and nevilles haze mango. I wasn't impressed with either.

i have heard great things about the black widow. My mr nice experience was meh.

if you want pure dank guaranteed

Cali connection - sour og - original sour diesel

many runs with both. Top notch dank.

or

delicious seeds - caramaelo - cheese candy

anything from either breeders I have found to be extremely tasty - great high- mostly easy grogrowers I would put my money into those two. Between me and my ppl we have run 100 seeds or so all together from both and haven't had a hermie. Not one.

tga- now they are another story smh

If you go to Attitude or herbies seed shop they have mix and match. You can get a cpl of each. After freebies and shit it will be about the same as clones $ wise.

Just look through and see what is appealing in the strain library's.

i tell you this this much delicious seeds has yet to disappoint and I have seen 8 of their strains grown out.

im the biggest flavor/buzz snob I have ever met..

just my two cents- I'm stoned on some awesome ecsd and rambling- don't you love when it has that dAnk blueberry muffin taste under the chemy diesel taste.. DAmn

Much appreciated. As far as dank level I tend to be the snob amongst my group so I appreciate the recommendations

How do the strains you recommended yield? I'm slightly more concerned with this as I'm only using a 400 with a small space and want enough to last me a while. I'm also slightly concerned with harvet time because I may be moving in 6+ months but still would like to harvest long before needing to pack up.

If anyone else has any more experience with mr nice please chime in.
