First you really need to identify what the pests are. A cross reference with some online pictures will help you better determine the exact form of infestation.
Without seeing pictures i would assume they are not spider mites if your spotting is brown. Spider mites create tiny white dots all over the leaves. Turn the leaf over and magnify the area.
Spider mites live and feed on the bottom of the leaves. Might be a magnesium deficiency.
One of my favorite treatments for pests is Azamax from general Hydroponics. It is fully organic and safe right up to flower. Hope that helps.
