Need help switching to flowering

I'm in my 3rd week of veg and I'm planning on switching to flower at the end of week 5. Lights are 18/6. I'm currently in pure roots organic soil, watering with distilled water bubbling with an air stone 24/7. I've supplemented with some "vermi-t" and the plant seemed to love it.

My initial plan was to switch to a supersoil for flower and supplement with a tea. I'm wondering if I can continue the plant in plain roots organic soil, and use a "bloom specific" tea for the flowering stage to avoid having to make my own supersoil.

Thanks for any input.

You could do it that way. If you were going to do supersoil type thing you would want it mixed and composting before now. There are organic nutes also.

Thanks a lot. I'm not really into the nutes because I don't have the budget, time and or tools to be measuring out ppms. I'd rather find a good tea brew that I can whip up and apply when needed.

what size container?
why are you using distilled water? and bubbling it?

Tough to guess how you are going to do in the future. A lot will depend on genetics, environment, etc.
But I think you may struggle to finish as is. I have grown in less than ideal soil, and it was hard to supply all the food via tea, etc. Plus your soil may not be able to buffer the pH throughout flower.

Are you going to transplant prior to flower? you could supplement your soil with some ewc, etc.

Distilled water for purity and I'm bubbling it with an air stone for dissolved oxygen. I'm transplanting into a 5 gal pot prior to flower. The soil I'm using is Roots Organic brand, it's ingredients are Coco fiber, peat moss, perlite, pumice, premium worm castings, bat guano, kelp, fish bone meal, soy bean meal, feather meal, greensand, leonardite and alfalfa meal.

I have not used Roots, but I still think it may be tough to finish w/5-gal base soil + teas.
Where possible, add some goodies to your soil & get it cooking. Use this soil when you transplant. You may need to feed heavy, and could finish well.

Is your local water OK? Are you trying to add oxygen to the distilled water? or bubble something away?

Local water is decent. I'm just bubbling to get some oxygen into the water because, to my knowledge, oxygen is good for the roots. I fill my bucket often with tap water and RO it. I like to give her some pure water just for shits. I guess I could buy the amendments and wait a few more weeks to flower... Plans were to have some cookin by now but Since I'm late with that I was hoping there was a way to avoid that with some other form of nutrition in my organic soil.

Your call on the water. I use tap & let it sit for few days. I use DI water for humidification & clones.
You may not be helping your grow with this approach, and could be hurting. You may need some cal/mg later for your grow.

I got a similar issue - not enough soil ready for next grow! I got 2x 3-gal smart pots ready to go, but I am now growing in 7-gal pots. I got more soil cooking, but not done, and I dont want to wait. I am going line the bottom of the pot with 'raw' soil, then transfer the 3-gal soil clump from the old pot to the new 7-gal pot. Then fill in the sides with more raw soil (~2" on bottom & all around the sides). Plant should grow in established soil for a while; by the time the roots reach the new soil, I hope it will be in OK shape.

What would be the disadvantage to using an airstone to add oxygen to the water while I was RO? And I lucked out big time!! After diligent searching, I've found a retailer that sells tga supersoil ready to go. What makes you worry about the cal/mag?

Good idea w/the supersoil. May be faster & cheaper for you to buy pre-amended soil.
Even if they advertise it as 'ready to go', I like to get it in the pots/get it wet & active. An SST enzyme tea (or compost tea) might be a good way to jumpstart the process.

I don't see a disadvantage to bubbling water, but also don't see an advantage. I don't think you can 'supercharge' your water with O2. I have not heard of adding O2 after RO.
Most bubble water to provide O2 for a reaction (e.g, AACT tea). Some bubble water to remove chlorine from tap water; I just let it sit for a few days.

I mentioned cal/mg because some growers have problems when using DI/RO water. You might get enough from your soil/teas. I get some of this from using city/tap water.
If you using supersoil in 5-gal pots AND your tap water is OK, I would use tap water.

In the sprit of wonder.. I'm gonna run a test with 2 plants next time I setup. One with dissolved oxygen water and one without. Ill definitely be ready with a cal mag just in case the supersoil and teas don't hold me over. Any recommendations on a good organic cal mag supplement?
