Need help, venting new setup

Am currently thinking about a flowering chamber of 4 ft long 3ft wide and 8ft high, will be completely lightproof and sealed but was wondering what size carbon filter to use, with what size fan, I will be buying a 600watt hps/mh dimmable ballast with a vented hood an will be vegging/cloning/mothering in an area 4' long x 3' wide 8' high. I will be putting 2 florecent lights on the mothers, one on the wall behind and one above, and will have one above that on a shelf for the rooted clones to grow them up, will be using a mist cloner with 2 cfls To keep some light on them while they root! Plan is to get them about 14-16" tall then move to flower room. This will be a soil grow, each plant in its own 5 gallon bucket of pro mix. Will flower 6 plants at a time. Also need a fan that's decently quiet, I will be taking air from outside using a 6" CPU fan on a dryer vent but will need advice on what fan to get to vent the hood, and exhaust warm air from flower room through carbon filter! Would be perfect if I could incorporate both to be more cost effective! Thanks

None of the inline fans I've ever used have been "quiet". Get a 450cfm 6" inline fan for cooling the light and at least a 240cfm for exhaust and you don't need an intake fan, you can create negative pressure with your exhaust fan which is good for the plants. Have the cooling fan pulling from outside the grow tent/space and exhausting outside(preferably). I put my carbon filter on the intake side of the cooling fan so that the exhaust doesn't stink too bad outside.

Thanks! I don't have any need to exhaust outside because the space in the area outside the grow area isn't heated I was going to let the heat from the light just vent through the rest of the workshop, I more than likely will just exhaust the air from the exhaust fan/carbon filter the same way and use the pressure like you were saying come in from the outside vent, does that sound alright?

Im new at this but i read you should have larger intake vents (or multiple intakes) than exhaust to make sure youre not taxing your exhaust fan.

makes sense.

If you get a 4 inch high velocity inline fan and use that to vent your light into your outer workshop that should be plenty i would think for that size and just leave the other end of the light open and voila your sucking the air in the room through the light and the negative pressure is drawing cold in from a hole opposite of the vent.

I have read just the opposite, to have a larger exhaust fan than an intake fan

Ya to clarify: You want larger passive intake surface area than your active exhaust surface area.

Set up your exhaust fan, its likely 4 or 6" diameter. create one large (larger than 4 or 6" diameter) intake or two smaller intake holes in your grow enclosure.
