Need help viewing trichs

I just got my Carson lighted pocket microscope 60x-100x
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16884620018

Does anybody else use these? I can't get a good look at my trichs because it's always out of focus, trying to view a 3 dimensional structure with this thing is next to impossible. So I cut off a bud, laid it out on the table and tried again. After another few minutes of frustration, I finally got ONE decent view of a few trichs but I was hoping to be able to examine several parts of the plant without having to remove them and spend an hour peeping through this thing.

I feel like a clod mashing this thing into my buds too, am I doing something wrong? Is there a better method? Maybe somebody could recommend another product?

Any chance you have a telescope? I use an eye piece but looking into the part that connects to the scope and it works great. I also made a macro camera out of my smart phone that works amazing.

Well, I liked the idea, but it didn't work for me at all with any combination of lenses. I'm trying to reduce my frustration here :-P
Nice!!!

LOL, that's what I was trying to avoid, feel like I have 5 thumbs trying to focus that thing. It's friggin inverted too, so I move down, image moves up. I'm considering a USB scope but I'm sure the same principle applies, might be easier to operate though.

press the scope against the bud and hold still.i have the same one.
Radio Shack 11.99
you need to really push it against your bud then focus it then should be fine
Thanks guys!!! Good karma all around :leaf:

I hate to say this, but I have the radio shack equivalent of that scope, 60-100x and everything, the focus wheel is hard to operate and it pretty much is a waste for looking at buds on the plant...The method that DOES work for me is I snip a calyx, then lay down on my stomach and hold my breath when trying to focus on it...Pain in the ass, but it was cheap and works when I go through that little process.
