So i planted this from seed. I have a 50 watt Fluorescent grow light on it right now. The box said it was a grow light for plants/flowers. The problem is a gave it too much nutriants which i can tell by the burns at the ends but what about the top leafs? its a darker green and the leaf's look funny. can anyone tell? i have them running on a 20 hour light to 4 hour dark grow system right now. The light is 11.5 inches away from the plant. Before it was as far away as a xbox 360 video game case is long. (idk how far that is) i have a 400 watt grow light coming in the mail which is 5 days away from delivery. what can i do? whats wrong? how can i save it?

i have some pictures attached..

?what soil? no need for nutes for awhile and id say put the light down again especially with only 50w you wont hurt it and flush it and just water, is the ph solid?

for soil goes i mixed 4 parts miracle grow soil 2.5 parts Perelite and 1 part Peat Moss. Btw the bulb gives off heat. here are some pictures of the case. I just did a PH tester and the coloration of it came out light green which means the ph is between 6.5 and 7.0, closer to 7.0 though. 120203_0005.jpg120203_0006.jpg

heats fine during veg they like higher heats put a little fan on the thing! and i think i have the same ph adjuster by genhydro the dropper? try and get it mostly green but try and get a little yellow in there just a smidge you can definitely tell from the solid green, again dont add nutes and when you do start at 1/4 recommended dose

how is it my miracle grow soil? it should be fine. i haven't got anyone else saying anything about it.
Well usually MG soil comes with time release nutes so when you water its letting nutes out. And its hard to tell how strong the MG nutes are, plus if your adding nutes on top of this, it could be causing a burn or lockout of nutes by too much of certain nutes in your soil.

And then bro after a while the soil will be leached of nutrients and you will need to add more...
You can do it, just have to keep and eye on it and keep adjustin, to get to puffin

Don't feed it anything, water only until it roots...then transplant it the hell out of that MG.

"then transplant it the hell out of that MG." what do you mean? are you saying i should get a totally different soil then the miracle grow one i have? is anything wrong with what i made as the mix with 4 parts soil 2.5 parts perelite and 1 part peat moss?.. if so what mix should i get? btw i transplanted the plant to a bigger size pot (new soil but same recipe), about 4 times the size then watered it till it leaked out through the bottom. How long do i flush?

Ok man, what they are saying about MG, someone else explained already. Miracle grow has little pellets in it that dissolve and release nutrients. Thats cool and all, except for the fact it takes you completely out of the loop for feeding your plants. Since its not designed for the likes and dislikes and the phases of a MJ plant it gives it the wrong nutrients, in the wrong doses, at the wrong times. Right now, a baby like that doesnt want ANY nutrients. It just wants a warm, moist place to set its roots and start its processes.
Its OK though. Dont ADD anything at all, only water it, and let the soil dry out really well before watering.

Biggest problem will be when you switch to flowering since the MG will be releasing veg nutrients instead of flowering nutrients. At that point you will have to supplement it with the proper flowering nutrients.

There's already peat in MG, I used it for 2 years. It's great for peppers and tomatoes...not so much for herb. And you just transplanted this into the same soil, and flushed a baby?.

I'll be amazed if it's alive in the AM.

Edit: And that bulb won't do much.

its not the mg soil. you already said you fed it. and too early too. little sedlings dont really need nutes. ok so mb it'll survive. and dont feed it anything for about three-four weeks. a little lime in the soil wouldnt hurt either:)

Good thing you tied it down that baby is growing out of control. mg will be ok just don't water so much and don't use nutrients. did you pay for the seed? mg is not a good starter soil.

btw i flushed it and set the light lower but then 5 hours later when i got back from work the leave were tilting up. some i raised it back to about 5-6 inches and it's growing fine. The situation has got better the plant look's more of a healthy green. i also put a bowl of water to up the humidity since i figured that might be the problem as well. Temps are generally in mid 60's and lower 60's at night so i added a heater. Doing better :) but we shall see in the coming days how it reacts to added humidity and heater! thanks for the help guys :)
