Need help when to flush?

Hi All,

First time grower here.

Growing 2x Zkittlez and 1x Oilspill.

Currently on day 45 since flip.

The info I have on the Zkittlez say 9-10 week strain.

I have no info on the Oilspill.

When should I begin to flush?

depends ob ur water source, RO, well, city, etc... flood flush or daily waterings. but usually 1 to 2 weeks of only water. so for u it be on starting of week 9. do a taste test at the end of qeek 9. if burn is not black. ur good to start trimming. else flush for another week to the end of weekb10.

Are you stating that there is no need to do a flush?
Yes.
You can't "flush" a plant.
You can leach soil.
12 weeks in, there's nothing left to leach though.
Plain water the last week is fine. Light nutes are better.
Don't flood the soil thinking the plants are cleansing or flushing themselves.
They're not.

Light nuits all the way through? Isn't that going to ruin taste. I'm fairly new to this, just asking based off what I've researched.

I go no nutes first 3 weeks.
Slowly introduce half strength after that.
Then watch the plants.
They'll tell you a lot more than nute label instructions.

The only time I leach is if I feel like the soil is out of whack, usually from synthetic nute salts.

Taste comes from genetics and the cure in my experience, not nutes.

Hi Haze...welcome !!

Unfortunately your question has been beaten up...abused...and put through the ringer.
There will never be an answer for you on this overly and hotly debated topic....just confusion.
Growing weed is all about opinions.
Just Google your question and read everything you can find and TRY to decide what to do.
I won't give an opinion.....just read...read...read....then do what seems proper to YOU and develop your own personal style of growing.
Trial and error unfortunately is a part of this process.
To pursue your question is futile...sorry.

Good Luck !!

EDIT: It appears I should put my opinion in.

I use soil
Buds are sinks...not sources....you cannot flush a bud no matter how much water goes thru.
I don't feel flushing is necessary....seems leaching sneaks in here too...proper drying and curing gives the weed smoothness and flavor.
I don't overfeed my plants...I go by the "less is more" theory. I dwindle nutes to practically nothing nearing the harvest...no sense to completely starve something I
kept alive and healthy for so long---it's still alive.
I use water only on the last water....the leaves still turn yellow and give back to the plant on the last few weeks all by itself.....you don't need to starve a plant for the last bit of nutrition from the "source".
Never chase ash color....don't need to look....my weed burns clean & smooth all the time .

Peace & Puff

There's no science for flushing plants.
It's more like folklore. Conspiracy theories. Religion. Some people just believe.
The two sides will always be at odds.
But I like your advice. Mistakes are as much building blocks as successes.

flushing/leaching ......word games whatever

If one has hard water (high alkaline) and/or is using chemical ferts and has a strain that goes 10-12 weeks then crystals/deposits build up at root tips restricting intake (especially after 2 1/2 months)

too leach away these deposits I use distilled water and have seen the immediate difference in growth afterwards so idiots that want to feed into late flower and smoke nitrates and bunch of unhealthy additive crap and think, "no flush", is the way are actually brainwashed themselves!
