Need help with cloning experiment?!

yeah that one i said is my ''favorite'', i topped and super croped, and that little bushy 3 footer was topped like 4 days ago, i tried fiming the LST one and it didn't work, got 3 tops coming up there lol (first time), but yeah mostly, and some i don't.

Yeah, WayBaked is right....sorry i was in a hurry typing....went to wallmart and got some peat puks for more clones, and some superthrive for some of my other plants (mostly for a stressed one that i transplanted) lol....

im doin barneys farm blue cheese atm.......trying to take clones tho and keep dying grrrrrrr.....how are u doing your clones? and getting them to root?

Well, this is my first time cloning....BUT its day 2 and they seem to be doing pretty good to me! No more wilting.....there still by the window (not in direct sunlight), but i just cut a branch from the bottom of my plant, cut everything at the node i wanted, then put two in rooting powder and placed in potting soil, and then two in water (one in PH'd water the other not)......And last night i took a clone from my favorite plant and put it in a peat puck soaked in water with a deluded amount of Superthrive....(the Superthrive one didn't wilt AT ALL) like the others did at first,,,they all seem like there doing good to me....hope it stays that way too! lol I'm mostly experimenting bro, sorry to hear yours died. Now i'm worried Don't know if i help any but its my first time so i'm learning lol hear they are day 2.
OH! also i dont have no special dome, its just a big plastic tote upside down.....it works loll

yer they don't look bad at all bro.......and yer that plastic tote will work well.........ive got mine in rockwool I mite try something alse on next try.......but yer nice one for your first time

Here they are bro. (Day 3 for the water and potting soil ones), it seem's logic to me that at night when they don't get any light they tend to wilt a little, (even my outdoor plants do)....and i took these pics at night soooo, they are somewhat wilted..... Now...The thing is it looks to me like the ones in water are doing better than the ones in the potting soil (even during the day), and its day 2 for the one in the peat puck and its doing pretty good too. But all in all i would say they're doing good for my first time, hope they make it!


I'll post some pics sometime tomorrow when theres light so you can see what i mean about them wilting at night and not so much in the day.... Kinda weird lol

And you were right that plastic tote works pretty good.... stays pretty humid in there

I've found keeping things alive after the first day is pretty simple. If they make it 24 hrs they'll go weeks and even months rootless no problem. In water only they seem the best but roots take the longest. Watch the 2 extra leaves die one at a time when last stem is sucked up your roots will usually start. If not I pull em out to dry for a bit and re-cut -1" before returning to water. The water seems to remove rooting trigger, either using up stored nutes in leaves or dry time restores that trigger.

The lowest leaves are food storage and expendable. Who knows what's going on really but yes roots shortly after last leaf is absorbed. My experiences have been pretty consistant. Doing re-cuts for kicks should be limited wounds invite pathogens. It's better to have fresh cuts avail after no more than 3 weeks no roots, 6-12 days is good root time.

Leaves dying isn't good/normal it happens if roots are slow. Most ppl don't leave em on but they allow a cut a bit of time to catch up.
