need help with germination

hey rollitup, i was wondering about germination, i've soaked some paper towel, squeeeezed it so it was still moist but not dripping, and put my 2 seeds into it, now i now one has rotted cuz i've been germin one for a week and it looks dark brown and soft, so i think i overwatered the towel, so i restarted with my other seed and the towel is less moist than the first, its been three days and my seed hasnt popped yet, it was kind of a dark green to begin with and now its a little darker but not as bad as the first seed. i put the one i think its rottet in it anyways just to double check, i might cut an insicion into it soon see if it will help, but for the good seed its been like 3 or 4 days i cant remember. how long should i wait until i try to find more seeds? cu finding seeds is very hard for me, dont know many smokers around here that have any, or any. and i cant order any for a while cuz im strapped for cash, spent it all on my setup which is kind of a hill billy rig but its got decent lights. what was the longest any of you have to wait to germinate? i looked it up and it said two days but its not really doin much, it swelled up a bit and darkened but i cant see any signs of it cracking? also do most seeds have a little "eye" shape on one end and a pointier tip on the other, cuz if i was to just go straight into soil, which end should i plant FACING down/up???

Definetley germinate, don't plant. Post pics of your seeds.

yes they eye thing on once end is normal..idk bag seeds obivously right? they cud be bunk and just not germinate properly. i wud get some more ive never waited more than 4 days but mostly crazk in first 48 hrs.. a week is too long

I pop mine in a glass of water when they sink I put in paper towel then bam sprouted, glass of water takes about a day depending on seed and paper towel about a day thata how I germ and get in 2 days. So far secuess rate is at 90%

Sometimes it's the seed itself that isn't good...dark seeds are usually ok but light ones are more likely to be duds. I always used a moistened paper towel double folded and placed in a slightly opened Tupperware in a dark cabinet. It takes two days at most to crack then straight into soil or rockwool taproot facing down. I also bury the seed 1/4-1/2" deep and cover it with the soil or rockwool so it has to grow through the medium as it would in nature. I only want the strong and quick sprouting seeds but some will take a bit longer if ur ok with waiting. It's a game of numbers so the more seed u have...the better off ull be. Remember...u still need to find good female genes and if the male female ratio is 50:50...I'd start with at least ten. Just my opinion based on past exp. Many methods work but paper towel never let me down. Good luck!

thanks, the luck you gave me got a seed to pop! :) i got 4 more still waiting but im going to let the taproot grow i little longer in paper towel b4 i put it into my SHITTY soil, and btw will potting soil with a TINY amount of pearlite still make my plants grow? i added some sand to its more grainy and better for drainage. its wet now but im going to let it dry out a bit so its still moist, but also fluffy. fluffy is good right? damn im so excited! thanks all i wont let you guys down! i'd even smoke some with ya but... y'know.
