Need help with inline fan noise.

6" grow bright high inline fan and fan speed controller from htg. Set on low this thing hums pretty loud. And on full blast it sounds like a jet.


Any ideas?

hang it from bungee cords. i have the same one and its hanging form the ceiling

Duct mufflers and insulated ducting are about the only option.

Thanks for the info guys. I think im gonna go with a duct muffler. I hate how big they are tho. I hope i don't run into a space issuse in my tent.

Is a hps and insulated ducting a fire hazard?

I saw someone put the fan in a cardboard box, cut holes for the ducting and put foam noodles in the box. You could even take it a step further and line the box with foam or plastic bubble wrap. If you saved the box it came in, it could be a very cheap silencer. I haven't tried this yet, but have had it on my mind.
