Need help with major problem (ph related I believe)

Hello,

I'm having some major issues with my two plants and need some expert advice.

INFO:

Both are clones approx 5-6 weeks old.
In Organic Kellogs Soil w/ perlite
Fed once with Fish Fertilizer.
Lighting is natural light and compact cfls
Temps 60-70s
Humidity 60s

What I DID:

Thought the problem was overwatering, so I let them go bone dry.
Thought toxicity from the club I purchased the clones from; so flushed them
Then gave them a feeding thinking they might be under fed. However, I have not noticed any change in over a week after feeding and think it might be lockout due to PH

Figured now it must be a PH issue, problem is I don't trust the Kerry-Morse Soil Tester kits you find at Home Depot. I can't really invest in a pen type reader either at this point.

My question is I believe they might have a higher PH, but can't be sure. Is there any visual indications of a high PH vs a low PH?
I'm thinking of adding a tsp of apple vinegar to 1 gal of water to see if it balances the ph out a bit. But could be totally wrong.

Thanks alot for any advice.

Do not add vinegar to your water without a PH meter to test afterwards. Even a very small amount can drastically lower the PH in a gallon of water and bring you to levels you don't want to be. This is the meter I use and it has worked well for me so far, and it's dirt cheap!

BTW: You may want to pick up a small bottle of that 7.0 Cal solution to go with it.
Ok thanks for the response. I saw this tester before and read mixed reviews about it, so was a little skeptical. But I will purchase both and find out whats going on. Without any sign of improvment though, I'm thinking they might be on their last leg(s)

Why did you think they were over watered? Because you chucked loads at it, didn't you?

Huh? No, because I bought them from a shop and thought they might have been overwatering them since they appeared slightly droopy when I first purchased them. They were almost a food tall in a tiny pot, so figured they were watering the hell out of them to keep the soil moist. They have significantly worsened in the last couple weeks however, so that possibility was eliminated.

What have you planted them into - pot size and medium? When? How much and how often are you watering?

Maybe mis-read my post. The issue is related to a PH or nutrient lock out. Not over-watering.

But to answer: 1 gallon pot size, Kelloggs Patio Plus + extra perlite. Water every week or so , or when the pot is light weight.

Sound like you got it all figured out then, Why are you here? Why would you have a 'ph or nutrient lock-out'? Whatever that is.

You haven't added anything to this discussion in your three posts. Are you just here to troll? If you have input to my OP then fine, but otherwise your not helping.
